Pruning the Classified

Postby BC847 » Fri Feb 03, 2012 10:09 pm

Due to old outdated threads being dug up we have decided to place a 60 day idle period on threads in this section. That means if a thread goes for 60 days or more with no new posts or updates it will be pruned (deleted) from the forums. As such, if you still want to sell your parts, you'll need to repost your For Sale ad.

If you want your current For Sale to remain seen, somebody better post in it every couple-or-three weeks. Don't you'll have to repost your ad. :!:

Folks, at the request of some of our members, I've extended the idle-time for the For Sale ads to 60 days. The Want Ads have been extended to 90 days.

Understand the new word "Deleted" above. Once deleted, I can't retrieve it for you. You'll have to make a new thread.

The Members Endeavors, I dunno. There's threads in there that haven't been posted to since 2007. I don't know if those folks are still active with their stuff. :?:

What do you folks think? Prune them after three years of inactivity? :?

There are a total of 26 threads in that section. What I would do is simply cut and paste "Still available?" to all of the 26 threads and then give it a week or any amount of time you feel comfortable with. If you get a reply then retain the thread. If you do not receive a reply then you can pretty much assume the offering is no longer available.

I know Tim Worline is still selling cooler tubz. He is just too busy to be on here every night. He has a link to his site in his sig so most people probably use that.
