I really like my Isspro's, I got them mounted on the dash on the far left, all together in a row. They don't obstruct visibility as a pillar pod would. I couldn't tell ya if they have light covers to change the back light color, I kept them as they were and they work good enough for me ;)

Personally, I wouldn't care if a gauge is considered a "ricer part", if it's of decent quality and it looks good to you, use it.
It used to be that Auto Meter was THE gauge to have, but I'm not as up on them as I used to be.

Its that white face, orange number, brushed aluminum bezel thing that I don't need, thats what makes them look ricer... and thats what all there high-po series of guages seem to be... don't know if the lesser ones are cheeper quality

ahale2772 wrote:Whats everyone's opinions on guages? im thinking boost, Egt, and trans temp on a pillar mounted pod. Are autometer's a bunch of trash? seems like they are aimed at ricers... and Ive never had an experience with their quality. How about Isspro? Also, do most guages come with those light tint boots to change the color of the black light?

I use/have always used autometer gauges. Never really have had a problem with them quality wise, always been price was the problem.
All the gauges in my truck are autometer and have been there for awhile no. Had the tach in it for 6yrs and the rest since joining here(2ish years). And they come with bulb condoms

I don't like the looks of the isspro gauge,18wheeler black face with chrome ring, bunch of people have them so must be a decent gauge.

Far as ricer, there's a couple styled faces driven toward that, they've got like 10 different face styles and some chevy, ford and dodge versions as well.

Mine have a silver face :P

I was torn between autometers and isspro's, I ended up going with isspros just for kicks and grins. Mine are all black, in a black gauge cup. White lettering, orange pointers, except the tach, which has a white pointer. Easy on the eyes, even at night. I have had autometers in my old wheeling trucks back in the day, never had an issue with them either. Just wanted to try something different ;)

Ellis, you an auto transmission guy, do you think my cooling system will be up to snuff? im kind of shooting in the dark with that filter, Idea was, large filter, 10Micron should catch any bad stuff and not plug anytime soon.

I kind of like the Isspro's because they seem to have the closest resemblence to stock guages. but I really reeally want them to have a green backlight, so hopefully they have the light condoms

Im really not a fan of those guages Ellis... but to each their own I guess 8)

Alex I think as long as YOU service that filter regular then you'll be fine with it. One thing I'd definitely do is get rid of that anti-drain back valve in the lower cooler line. That turd is what burns up many trans by stopping up or sticking. If the trans guy put the transgo shift kit in it,there's a new manual valve in it that reduces or eliminates converter drain back, what that check valve does.

Ellis, I guess he switched from an HD2 transgo kit to a "surecure" kit because of the drainback issue.

Im not using any part of the sock lines, so hopefully the surecure kit will keep the converter full...? :?: ... I'll have to call him to make sure.

Just got a set of Kool-Vue power/heated tow mirrors for the 94, 216$ shipped to my door, can't beat that

Ya well,your opinion sucks

someone that can actaully NOT get all butthurt after someone else shares their opinion?!?!?!!?!? ...wait, are we still on the interwebs??? 8)

Don't forget the guns

My mom use to compare me to him when I was in my teens cause she said I acted just like him  I've since mellowed some but he stuck to me in her eyes. It flares from time to time but it takes a lot more to get that out. ;)

I had an episode today as a matter of fact. Gotta 5R55E trans in an 02 ranger wooping me right now. I'm pulling the V.B. In the morning for the fourth time :x if I could find the person responsible for this poor excuse for a trans I'd spit tobacco juice in his eye and kick him in the shin bone with the old steel toe boot.
