i'm a 1911 junky. love them but anyone who shoots 45 acp knows how expensive factory ammo is. i've been accumulating used wheel weights from the dealerships i work at for years and i cast my own bullets from scrap lead. we also cast and reload 30-30, 357, 35 rem, and 45-70. its a fun hobby and brings my cost per round down to a managable level. anyways, last weekend was pretty so i fired up the pot and cast a few hundred bullets.

thank ya'll. i really enjoy casting the bullets as much as shooting them. almost  . the greatest thing is there are no mistakes. if one is mishaped, not filled out, etc you just drop it right back in the pot. no waste. only bad thing is a 85 degree bullet and a 650 degree bullet look identical. . leaves a pretty good mark.

Good work. Casting takes talent and patience. 99% of the bad casts are because of temperature. Too cold and it frosts, too hot and it contaminates.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.
