Hoping Winter Diesel is Being Phased Out!

Postby Diesel » Tue Feb 28, 2012 8:53 pm

Man am I sick of my mileage being horrible in the winter. With the warmer than usual winter I hope the summer blend starts flowing soon...

with my luck, they would release summer blend and then there would be a freak storm that lowered the temperature outside to -20 and i would be stuck with a tank full of jello diesel.

They say March 31st around here for summer blend.
I'm averaging 19MPG in my 1996, even on WB. :D

I'm getting that in my 90. 8)

Although winter fuel has never really affected the mileage for my truck. So many other factors for my winter driving.

Well 19 on winter blend is bad for my truck...

I guess it could be worse...I'm getting 19mpg on winter blend but at least Snooki isn't my pregnant girlfriend.

Try it running around with 2,000 pounds in the bed, while running no less than 65mph all the time.

Never had a 1st gen do that, with 19mpg, and have the power my "pregnant" truck does.
Then there's the room and the ride, which I like the 2nd gen for.

No no your truck isn't pregnant. I was just saying that even though my trucks mileage is hurting over the winter things could be worse (such as being the poor fellow who is the father of snookis child).

So clearly my attempt at making a joke failed... :D

I thought it would be funny to bring up a wholly unmasculine subject as my example of a "bad life" when I was complaining of my slightly poor mpg's on winter mix. I am honestly so proud that none of you know what I was talking about and I am a little disappointed that I know of her... :D

I got it and chuckled, I just was ashamed to admit it

I'm getting 16-17 mpg on winter fuel, down from 18-19 mpg in the summer. I'm crediting that to the winter fuel, cold air, carrying weight in the bed, and idling to warm up in the morning. 16 beats the heck out of 9 that my buddy gets in his 4x4 CCLB Ford with a 351

Oh, like you didn't notice?

I actually got 15.5 mpg on the round truck this last tank, up from 14. anything.
