Man did I miss that sound

Postby redneckroot » Sat Mar 03, 2012 7:44 pm

Had to pull the truck out to get to my wood splitter. Can't wait until the salts back off the roads so I can start driving it again. It idling there was music to my ears.

I feel your pain man  Mine is burried uder the snow and I fire it up now and then to keep it clean and turning. I will drive it back and forth in the driveway several times to cure my addiction of wanting to be behind the wheel. Spring time is near, it's been a long winter up here and I am just beside myself, like a kid looking at his favorite candy behind the glass but no money to buy it ........

I'm right there with you. I've been driving my Subaru more than my truck recently, but every time I get behind the wheel of the 'Ol Dually I get a grin on my face. Still can't decide between an NV4500 swap or a built auto for my truck. I'm leaning towards a Goerend auto and I'll just buy a 5spd 1st Gen later down the line.

As much as I like to have my 92 sit in the driveway in the winter, I HAD to get it out this morning, we got less than one inch of snow, but it turned into ice. I would rather drive my truck on ice than my VW. Almost all of the ditches on my 30 mile commute are shallow, so if I slide off the road again  I can wrestle it back on the road. The rust is getting bad enough on it, I don't think much anymore sitting time will keep it from rusting further :(
