Somewhat productive day

Postby oldestof11 » Sat Mar 10, 2012 2:40 pm

So after a wedding at 10am, I headed home to drop the wife off for a gig she had. After that, we are going to a potluck but that is a 6pm tonight. So I had things I wanted to do.

The PO of the truck told me right before I showed up (I had already test driven it a little over 1 week prior) he got the wiring for the speedo hooked on something and snapped the wires. Sure enough, no reducer, VSS, or wiring. Found it kinda tucked up behind the engine, on top of the bell-housing with what I assume is the reverse lights wires. I had an extra VSS laying around but no plug... Hmmm. I cut the plastic off of 1 end of a blue wire splice. Fits really snug on the poles inside the VSS. I found the wire for the speedo (white/orange tracer) and guessed as to which one it might be. Grounded the other. I now have a working speedo that is 30% off. But it works now.

I tried to fix the steering but said phuck it, I am going to find another one. I figured while I was at my in-laws, I would go check out the back 40. They have some really prime and nice land. Here are some photos from it.

That pond is spring fed with a creek running around it. Some big bass in there. I caught a 20" once

Also I found a 3' high berm that was a compost pile from the previous owner of the property. They hadn't used it in 10 or so years. So I decided to flex a little...

33" fits right up in there

Leaf springs can flex...

A lot it seems

Then some cool photos

I am probably going to do some things different with this trucks' direction. I like this way too much and I would like to see some cool country.

Truck looks great, got a side view? Im thinking of throwing a toolbox in mine behind my stack. But I'm not sure if I'll like the gap with the stack in there.
Also how wide are them tires? They fit the truck really good 8)

Philip, is it a tilt column? I may take you up on that.

Justin, here are a couple:

Tires are 33x12.5x16.5. No lift, 40% tread left.

Pete, you wouldn't happen to remember the color of the truck would ya?

Jon, hard to tell, it was dark and there was alcohol involved.
