Well, haven't gotten much done lately. Been pretty busy (shocker! NOT). Did get my grid heaters figured out today, though. We'll see how well they work the next time I start the truck cold. Did some painting on the engine last weekend, too.

I'd kind of forgotten about the intermittent push button switch on the kick panel. Yep, that's what it's there for. The relays do work. Need to take time to clean up the terminals yet. Was looking at the smaller fusible links some. Look to be a bad one or 2 maybe. Curious if the grids operate off of those or not (to trigger the controller?). I know the power from the batteries is going through the ones that go to the big studs on the relays. Power go through, when the relay is energized. So, we are good there. The dash light doesn't come on at start up (when the grids should be on), but the bulb is good. Does light up when the other idiot lights do a self check.

Did you check the switch on the intake? 1 runs the KSB and the other the grids.

It's on the to-do list............... That crossed my mind also.

Both wires that connect to the relays, via the small studs, had been snipped off. Not sure where they would run back to directly. They just made the leads long enough to use a butt connector to run both, and run the wire back through the dash, to the switch.

I was wondering why there was 2 of those switches. FSM only shows 1.

My '93 FSM shows 2, 1 on sheet 24 for the KSB and 1 on sheet 26 for the "intake air temp sensor" The wires from the relays are both fed from the PCM together and then grounded back thru it, individually on sheet 21.

The grids are working, so that is the main point right now. :) Been starting just fine without using them, to around 30*. Kinda of stubborn below that, though.

Well, crap! The plastic piece for the upper headlight adjuster screw broke. Got a droopy eye now!  What are the odds of getting new ones, and not old brittle ones?

Go here:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/ ... ing=search

I THINK the 5th one down is right for our trucks.
Whatever you do DON'T input info on your truck, because you won't find them listed.

Go back to that link and click "My Vehicles" , then click where it says "view all products", or whatever.
There's a whole list with pics.
