Been somewhat productive this weekend. Haven't had the time I was hoping the past 2 weeks, to get all I wanted done before the meet this weekend.

Did get the electrical wired in for the trailer. Just need to see if the controller will work with the brakes. Controller "seems" to be doing what it supposed to. Just need to hook up a trailer and find out for sure. Found out what 2 of the extra switches on my knee bolster towards the bottom of the dash were being used for. One to run the aux power terminal and the other to the line that would charge the trailer battery for the breakaway. They still work too. :) Got the mess of old trailer wiring under the truck cleaned up too. :)

Got the mounting plate for the tranny support plate welded up a little bit ago. The bad motor mount probably has a lot to do with it.

Did find that the grease seals on the rear u-joints are no good, so I'll be needing to replace the crosses as well.

I've had a few nights I didn't leave the shop til 2am. Wish I had my own shop though. Glad my boss hasn't complained about the truck being in there so much, but he does know what I'm up to as well. Want to keep the old girl for as long as I can. :) Ain't to pretty ,but it's a good ol' truck. :) Doesn't use any oil either. Only drip of oil I see on the floor is from the breather tube, and its just a few drops. Nothing more. :D Truck is surprisingly dry. :)

If I had a shop, with summer coming on, you wouldn't see me from dark 'till dawn and I wouldn't be sleeping at that time, either.
I'd be more than happy to go nocturnal, just to finally be able to put my visions into form.

Alas, I can only dream and scheme.

I have a shop and it never works out the way you intend it. I end up not having much if any time to work on my own crap, and if I do its more of a have to work on it basis then a want to work on it.

Usually it winds up that way for me as well. :/ Generally takes me a year to get as much done as I have right now in the past few weeks.

Only got the overhead ran tonight (set 'em at 8 and 18 this time), and messed with the pass side door latch. Seems everything is moving, EXCEPT for the latch mechanism its self.......... Might be rusted up. Don't know. Found a sharp spot in there and cut my hand in 2 spots. Not bad though. :) Boss' step son came in after I was finishing up the overhead, and we started talking trucks. :) Been schooling him on diesels. :D Wants to get a 1st gen 5spd 4x4 pretty bad. :D He helped me some with the door as well.

Ever since I was 16 or so, when a window I was trying to remove slammed down on my hands with my wrists near the inner structure, I have likened door work to unintended suicide.
Those structures are sharp, they are in the totally wrong places and glass is pretty heavy.
One wrong move and you could have a deep cut pretty easy.

Creeps me out working on door internals. :|

Working in a GM dash is no better. All I had to do was replace the resistor pack for the blower, and it turned a simple job into a bloody mess. Had cuts all over the place. :/

Got as far as pulling the driveshaft out, and spraying the u-joints down with penatrating lube. Had to heat every bolt on the retaining straps. Had to come back to the house to load up a 6.7L block. Work on it again in the morning, before work.

Got a long list of stuff I need to get done, and almost nothing got done this week. Was gone most of it. Wound up that my dad came over to work on my garage, so I was helping him with that instead. Hopefully tomorrow......... Need to tear the donor down and pull the rear springs and rebush them to use on the 93. Gut the cab interior, but going to leave it on the frame to move it around easier til the body work is done. Put the front clip in the storage unit til I'm ready to put things back together.

Had a late start today (had to paint the garage), but still got a good amount accomplished. Even had time to shoot the breeze with Ike and his little girl today when he came over to pick up his wheels. :) Got the donor cab almost completely gutted now. Just the carpet and rear trim left pretty much. Firewall is basically bare (minus removing the sound deadener). HVAC all removed, disassembled and cleaned. Need to pick up a new evap and heater cores, then I can start some reassembly. :D Took more pics, but with my phone. be a while before they are posted up.

HVAC ducting pretty clean overall. :) A few leaves and acorns. No real build up on either core. Gonna start with new ones, so hopefully I won't have to replace either anytime soon. :D For as much time as it would take to strip the dash again, it's worth it to do while it's already out.

Bryan, put screens in to catch debris before it gets to the cores. That's what I did and it helps quite a bit. I forgot to put one in the cold air side (non AC), and I have crap in the fan again. :x
I used 1/4 inch wire mesh, screen or whatever you all it.
