Tracking down a vehicle...

Postby RumbleFish » Wed Oct 03, 2007 1:32 pm

I've got the vin. How can I find a vehicle I've owned previously? It went across state lines when I got rid of it. I first thought of Carfax, but I dunno if it give names of those who have registered the vehicle. I know you smart fellers have got something to add...

So I dug around on carfax and found out that they do not include names. I made a call to a cop friend of mine, and he said he would do what he could, but since it was out of state, he didn't know for sure if he could find anything out.

Got a friend in the other state, someone who is a car dealer, cop, etc?

I have my sources, but they are top secret, and only work in certain states  ;)

Naw, I gave the vin to a cop friend of mine. Turns out it is back in Indiana, about 2 hours down the road. Debating on taking my gasser down there and seeing if he is interested in a trade + cash. Long shot? Definitely.

You never know though....with some people, everything is for sale. I'm not one of those people, but I know a lot of them. I would take a foolish person to cough up enough money to get my Jeep...and I don't want a fool owning it ;)

At least mine is a stick...I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Speaking of which, I think it is a little bit on the rare side, as its the only truck I've seen like this. 90 D150, club cab, short bed, 318 4speed. Weird, eh?
