Got a gas 4wd but can I pull it home on a dolly?

Postby Diesel » Tue Jun 26, 2012 7:31 pm

Got a 93 gas 4wd. It's a it needs tons of work and needs to be towed home. Is it too wide for a car dolly? Rather pull it on a dolly than a trailer.

Unless it has oversize tires it will, just will. Other than not having one why wouldn't you want to haul it on a trailer.

Exactly I don't have a trailer and rental Dolly's are real cheap. So the width of the truck won't keep me from loading her up onto a dolly?

I would make sure Tranny and T-case are both in neutral.

Will do. Should I just pull the driveshaft on the rolling axle? I know neutral in the case is all that matters but I just want the smoothest ride possible.

GET THE INSIDE MEASUREMENT ON THAT DOLLY!
Also have the seller measure the full width of the front tires, bulge and all.

I have an older Demco dolly and it will NOT load even a 1/2 ton pick-up on it.

Dolly is 82" between fenders. How wide is a 4wd?

It should be close to your D-250's width.
