I cannot access parts for sale page.

Postby rustoleum93 » Sun Jul 29, 2012 8:11 am

I am new here. I have a 93' D350 dually 5 speed I am restoring and am in need of some parts and help.
I try to access some of the topics and am told I don't have access to go to them
Why is this? How do I get access? The truck is in the body shop right now and I don't have a year to burn proving that I'm not spam.

I suppose I can understand, but this does nothing but hinder me in my attempt to restore my "Rusty" I could've sworn these sites existed to help everyone. It would take me a year to get to that number. My truck is going to be done in 3 weeks and I actually have a life so I can't sit all day at the computer coming up with stuff to post.
And how can I be spam if I'm trying to BUY something that is freaking impossible to find?
All I know about the first gen is where to find 4" exhaust and a new performance intake.

Well you can try other forums, or Ebay, but I don't think you're going to be able to bypass the rules. This site does exist to help people, but some people took advantage and now rules have been created to counter them.

Hey, watch it now, that cuts some of us a little deep.

I'm sure if you're willing to make an effort to prove you're here for the betterment of your 1stgen Dodge an exception could be made. How about some pics of it? Details on it? Info on what your plans are after you get some parts and the 'shop finishes up with it?

I think it's bad that newbies who actually need some parts can't access the F/S section, but apparently something happened that measures had to be taken. I'd PM BC847 before I ran off to another forum/Ebay at least.

I appreciate you all's understanding.
His name is Rusty, 93' D350 dually, 5 speed, extended cab, metallic brown/gold ext. 4" turbo back straight pipe, performance air intake.
Bought it in Feb. I saw it and just had to have it. I have a 07' with the 6.7 but wanted an old one too.
I am a contractor and my body shop/paint guy needs a new roof, Rusty needs a new paint job so we are trading. He is working on it now and I need to find a front bumper with the pads and the aluminum (or stainless?) trim piece that goes on the tailgate.
I found a tailgate locally (a miracle) but the trim piece is shot.
I honestly don't know how to post a picture, otherwise I would load pics of both of my babies.

I didn't mean anything by the 'life' comment, I'm just getting frustrated because I have looked and looked all over to try to find these parts and I figured it would be best to try talking to some like minded fellas and I get shut out. :bh:

This is the exact reason I'm not a fan of the new rule, we screw potential members of our community. I know they did it for a reason and I'm not complaining (especially since it doesn't effect me :D ) but I'm sure it sucks for guys like you.

To post a picture make an account on a site like www.photobucket.com and upload the pictures there. The hover over the picture you want to post and there should be 4 lines with code. Copy the IMG line and post it here and the picture should show up.

Maybe if you do that there would be a way for David to bypass the rule for you. It's there to stop spammers and if someone isn't a spammer but doesn't post a lot it shouldn't bar him from seeing the classfields, in my opinion.
