It's a pretty intriguing sight, looking DOWN into Lewiston from that same hill, all the lights below, with the height above the city. 8)

Our hotel faced the hill, so I spent a good amount of time gawking at it  I was in Lewiston at night, so I didn't get the night view from above. I had previously thought southern Indiana had big hills and I80 across Iowa was hilly

Didn't say I was going to get rid of the old Dodge  It made me quite proud the other day when I was grossing in the neighborhood of 20k. And that's when I realized that the 727 does a marvelous job of soaking up that torque I've been trying to make

I feel like talking so......

Nothing wrong with any truck made. Just some can be beat on more than others. I like dodge because the drivetrain always seems to make it down the road no matter what you do to them. They ride like absolute garbage, the wiring looks like it was done by my 2 year old, the bodies fall apart just from sitting in the showroom. But I will say when i drive a chevy or a ford.... they are so much more comfortable, and nicer.

Now the new trucks.... Haven't driven a 4th gen dodge but the common rails ride pretty darn nice... I owned one and it was by far the most durable truck I have ever had.

Old, yes, new no. I'd never have PMRs and I don't like AD injectors in the Super Dutys. "A" codes in OBS trucks are the way to go

That was a quick flip, Mr. Ellis 8)

Well for the record me and revemup are no longer talking at this point.

nah, in all seriousness I will say that a 7.3 CAN last for a long time, with higher maintenance, a dirtier burn, less power, smelling like crap, and....... But it ain't no 5.9

I've aways reversed that saying.
Somehow "Hand Shoes and Horse Grenades" seems to have a more of a mental impact.

BTW, the best part of Ferd has ZF written on it, not that one of those is terribly great.
Otherwise IMHO, the whole Blue Oval thing belongs in the same place as a slant 6 Mopar engine does, the scrap heap. ;)

Man was it,I was real happy it was gone that quickly. I was starting to think about cannibalizing the dodge to drop the Cummins in it 8)
I'd so drive that truck if there was a Cummins in it,it would've been a nice truck with a decent motor and a zf6

All I know is they were NOT designed to be a truck engine, even the 225s are a total POS.
Why on earth they ever made it into anything heavier than an 'A' body is totally beyond me. :?:

I know for a a FACT that if you load a Slant Sick 3/4 ton pick-up with even HALF the weight a Cummins 3/4 ton pick-up can haul, you'll report back with stories of it puking antifreeze and overheating like crazy.
The key to making it move heavy loads (spinning the crap out of it) is it's downfall.
I never could keep one from puking it's antifreeze out, even with GM-Sized aluminum crossflow radiators, totally wasted my time ever messing with that idea. :(
Sure, they'll spin something like 5 or 6 grand to race them, but they don't care for spinning 3 or 4 grand with a load behind them one bit.

They truly are an engine one can love to hate.
