bye bye crew cab

Postby RumbleFish » Wed Oct 24, 2007 6:12 pm

So I listed my heap on ebay last night. Started out at $2500, with a buy it now of $6400. It was up about 1 hour and 40 mins before somebody used the buy it now. Some kid from around Dayton, OH came up today, looked it over and took it for a ride. Gave me a deposit and said he would be back next week when the harvest lets up some.

So the search is on. I'm looking for a 2wd 5 speed with 3.54 gears. I am leaning toward another dually. I found this one and took a liking to it. Then there is the possibility of talking to the yay-hoo that has my old one. Anybody know of one a reasonable distance from the Ft Wayne area?

I am really stoked about unloading this thing so fast, as well as making some $$$ off of it. Now its time to go truck shopping 8) 8) 8)

I would try shopping in Mississippi, Georgia, and Alabama. I find the trucks are cheaper and ALOT better condition than around here. Most of the 1st gens north of the Ohio River are rust buckets.

If you're still missing the old one, walk up to the current owner with a wad of cash and see if he wants to deal. If you know what he paid, you have an edge. Ask if he'll take $XX for it, then go up some. If he hems and haws, start to walk away, he might chase you down.

I was sick of dealing with somebody else's shoddy work. The guy who the truck is FAR from an electrician. The cab was starting to rust in the door posts, and in general the truck needed more attention and money than I was willing to put forth. I have my Ramcharger for when I need a 4x4, so I wanted to get another 2wd truck. Don't get me wrong, I love the truck, but I need a dependable daily driver which this truck has not exactly been.

It all comes down to the fact that I had a change of heart. I plan on building one myself in the future sometime when I have a place to do so. And for some strange reason I am craving another dually.

Naw man, had to take the little ones trick or treating so i can raid thier candy stash. We ended up going to the my finace's boss's place...who lives next to the house I grew up in. The neighbor on the other side remembered me and kept handing me brew all night long. I got half lit, pulled out the bankroll I got in exchange for my truck and asked her boss how long it would get me, and my better half got pissed. It was a good night

:safe:
