Global warming hasn't given us an honest snow in years. Just don't move to the north east. They get hammered by snow every few weeks it seems.

Yeah, those are it.
As usual, if it's overpriced, some Mopar douche or another has their hand in it.

They are the only place ive found them. Be nice to find them for a sane price.

The great state of Indiana would welcome you. The average shop labor rate is higher if I catch your drift and erosion catalysts ("mudders") are few and far between. There are diesel douchers, but we keep it pretty real out here up in the flat land. Just typical city problems  I can maybe think of 6 or 8 1st gens in my town. 3 D250 (all non-ic originally) and a few club cab W250s.

Up here its all chevy and a large handful of 70s fords. Im in the minority, and its not exactly bad except for the 2nd gen diesel ricers.

I never mention this sort of thing to the county people, I just go in, get the title in my name, and then swap away. Might be a little trickier with out of state vehicles that need inspected.

Funny thing is, the same whiners at the courthouse will pass two FWD cars cut in half and welded back together to make a new one. (one was hit in the front, the other in the rear, but otherwise exactly the same cars.) I actually had the pleasure of refusing to work on this vehicle at a dealership when it had wiring problems. One day years later said car was t-boned and the car split into the 2 original parts cars and people died. What happened to the body shop or the county inspector, nothing. Happened right here in Nebraska.

Yet they whine about bolting another cab on a pickup truck...

Those VIN plate rivets could be replicated with a round precision file at the kitchen table with a cold beer nearby to help keep the hands steady...just a thought :)

^yep. I considered using my dremel on some regular rivets, but didn't care and was running out of daylight. I used regular round rivets and nobody noticed. A shady character around here has used regular rivets several times and said the officials only looked to see if he used screws instead.

I looked closely at my donor cab and seen the rosette rivets, I had to look really close though. I had always thought they were standard pop rivets

99% of "officials" wouldn't know one from the other, but then I'd probably have to swap out a broken dash and re- rivet a tag, then get the ONE cop who was a Mopar guy and be screwed.

Most other manufacturer's tag rivets are readily available, but not damned Mopar's!

That's what I was thinking...

I really want to use the dash in my donor, as it is in PERFECT shape. The dash in my 91 is kind of crappy, holes, cracks, etc...

We'll see what the future holds for the old Big Red Pile ;)
