Dunno if this is the forum for such a question, if not let me know but here goes:
I've been looking at a 91 first gen dually cab chassis. Just trying to get a feeler for what it's worth. Any ideas? Mileage unknown since the odo broke in the mid 1990' at 75,000. Who knows what kind of milage it has, could be anything.
Did they make many of first gen cab chassis? I have not seen too many around.
5 sp getrag
160" wheel base & frame is heavy duty looking.
dump body / pto
3.55 dana 70 dually axle
Runs decent. feels weak to me but maybe I'm wrong since I'm used to my w250 with the fuel screw turned
Drives down the road ok, pulls to the right somewhat. rides nice. Feels like a smooth caddilac compared to my w250
Interior is filthy but in decent condition actually, no tears in the seat
The cab solid absolutely zero rust.
door hinges not worn or sagging
grille broken, (are 91 grilles hard to find?)
minor body dents
brakes are shot. needs complete brakejob, master cyl, rotors, possibly calipers. rear drum condition unknown.
Front coil springs look weak, sitting low. Obvious rub marks from tires occasionally bumpin the wheel well. could be from too much load forward in the dump body.
Opinions? Thanks
