I used to have the identical truck as yours, intense metallic blue and gray, auto trans. With the cruise set at 100, I could get 13-14 mpg. Had 86000kms when I got it, 190000ish when it got stolen. I put dual exhaust with turbo tube mufflers and a K&N filter. It was horribly loud, got pulled over the next day and was told to change the exhaust IMMEDIATELY. I mean, if you walked on it you could hear it clearly 10 miles away. Ended up X piping it with a 3" by 12" race magnum muffler, much better deeper snappy sound. The only thing that ever went wrong with the truck was the thermostat, $220 bucks! Considering it was the truck I jumped over 150 feet with many many times on a perfect hill in a field, (the beer box and cooler would levitate for the 3 seconds of airtime at 80 mph 8) ) and overall just drove the schit out of it, probably the most reliable vehicle I ever owned.

lol atleast someone has had luck with one! this one has been a complete PITA!!! but i love it, its my grand dads rig. i couldnt let it get scrapped. the thermostat was litterally the easiest fix i've done on this truck.

My buddy has a '96 or so V10 truck. We were screwing around on the highway one day and my 97 had no problem keeping up. Until I stepped on it at about 85 or 90, then I waved bye bye and walked away from him. He was a little bent because he thought that V10 was all that.

Yup mine still wasn't very fast, intake and exhaust gave it maybe 10 hp. Still got beat by a stock 454 SS 90's Chevy shortbox, by two lengths in the 1/4. IIrc it would go 186 kph in third at the rev limiter, and I had it up to 220 kph once downhill with no tailgate.

Nope, thats about right. The V10 3/4 reg cab 4x4 was tested at 8.0 seconds 0-60, the Chevy 7.8, iirc. The 454 was down 60ish hp and 40ish ft lbs torque, but 2300ish lbs lighter. And he did jump me 3/4 length off the line lol. I had a 74 International harvester with a 345, 3 spd auto that I paid 400 dollars for that beat mustangs and camaros, got 2 mpg, could do 95 mph peg leg burnouts for nearly an 1/8 mile, without any footbraking to get it going. It would pull hard to 95 mph and then start floating the valves, wouldn't go any faster. Took 2 quarts of oil and about 22 litres of gas to drive 18 kms to town doing 65-70 mph. And no, it didn't leak gas. The entire engine was covered in a 1/2" or more of grease. Caught it on fire once priming it, burnt all the plug wires off before I could get an extinguisher. Two rolls of black tape and some more gas, and away it went, like nothing happened.
