I got tired of dealing with my phantom death wobble, whatever thing.... went out and pulled the ol' lady commercial and threw the tires back at Discount tire. Then I went down to Les Schwab and took it up the corn hole (they are high priced to say the least) and bought some 37x13.50x17 Toyo M/T.

I now feel like I'm pulling 5k# every where I go now.. I'm sure my mileage will drop back down to the ol' 18.5 ish range like it has been for a long time. That 20.8 was the first time I had checked with those 37x12.50x17 BFG T/A KO.

Now, I can't tell if my shaking went away.... or if it is simply the fact that these monstrous mud tires are disquising it.

RC my cousin has an old mid 80's VW rabbit diesel 4dr stick, he did do a head job right after he got it but has been trouble free
for 6 or 7 years, he drives it to work ( power plant) and runs a 30/70 mix of used motor oil, and a 70/30 mix of used cooling oil,
he does have a heated filtering system in his garage and he has to find the oil from little dinners and such, but it is really cool.

I know when I am coming up behind him on the highway, it smells like French fries....

I've looked at them... problem is (around here) they go for like STUPID amounts of money. I have a hard time spending lots of money for a terd (unless it's a Cummins)

I think I might gain a bit by having a clean map sensor. I'd also gain some by not running the truck at 500whp all the time and having so many horsepower inspired shenanigans

Oh, I hear ya. I was VERY surprised when I filled it up.... as I "drove" it around having some fun, I managed to go through an entire 1/4 tank and only drove 30 miles. That tells me that it is (was?) capable of getting quite a bit better economy.

Yeah. That's pretty lucky. Almost every tank I say to myself I'll baby it and try for mileage. It's never happened yet

I say those exact words every single time I fill up, then I get beside a big ford at a red light out away from town, or a 2nd/3rd gen with an 8 inch tip....or I need to pull tractors or hay somewhere, I have never the entire time I have owned my truck went through a full tank without a flogging of one kind or the other.
