Sounds like a Monday or Friday truck to me.

Most of those problems will be solved when he takes it to a dealer and replaces a body control module. Simple fix that's costs major-ish money.

Warranty? Don't know, didn't ask him.

I do miss the comfort of a new truck though. Just drove mine hundred or so miles and ...... yep, getting so I don't like driving it anymore. It's just a pain in the butt sometimes.

Ill somewhat agree with that Eric. Im LOVE these trucks, but Im wanting something I can use for my 4 minute drive to work and walmart trips. Im contemplating putting together another cheap neon beater, but Id love another ramcharger as well.

Here's a twist for you. How about a newer (2010+) Ram 2500 with a Hemi instead of the Cummins? Did I bring this up before? I hear you have to rev the crap out of them when towing though?

That's what I heard about the hemi too. Gutless POS unless you're winding the P out of them. No 1st hand experience though, I'll stick to my diesels.

Me too! I've driven one that I put a motor in (over heated from leaking water pump) and it was a turd.

I don't tow heavy at all, under 7500 all the time, and I don't tow that often. My truck stays under the cover unless I am using it for work. I do want to get a bigger fifth wheel in the future though, but one that weighs 10,000 or less.

with that being the case, I wouldn't rule out a gas truck if the price was right, I know possibly 40-50
people that drag medium to larger campers all over the country with gassers, now when you get up to
15k and above I would stick with the greasers over a gasser. 8)

Personally......I was thinking gasser myself.

The new 1/2 tons are capable of pulling 10k and are WAY better at it than our trucks (f-150). And they are getting 15-20mpg unloaded, which is a lot better when one thinks of the price difference of diesel vs gasoline

My old work truck (my personal one) was a 2004 Chevy 6.0 2500hd (std. cab).... 14mpg unloaded (not great, but it was a 6.0). Now... that truck would pull like any truck out there. I could pull 10k pounds and pass vehicles doing 60mph up a 6 percent grade. The truck flat out had balls. Disc brakes all around, hell of a truck to be honest.

Now...that truck for some reason was EXTREMELY more powerful than the other 2 6.0 chevys of the same year. Not sure why, but we were one day fooling around and in a drag race.... Let's just say I was about 5 truck lengths ahead in our "homemade" 1/4 mile. Gearing as the same too

my buddy bought a hemi crew cab awhile back. He said on take off it was a little less powerful than his 5.?? Chevy but once you was moving it would out pull his Chevy. Not sure what he's getting for mileage with the dodge either.

Those 6.0 Chevys are really hit or miss on power. Some are great like Eric's and a lot are gutless. Not sure why but that's how they are.

Dodge actually dyno's the hemi's before they leave the plant to make sure they make their advertised horsepower

My work uses F-150's for people transporters mostly. Even the ones with 5.4's, and the newer 5.0's are kind of dogs. I don't see using one of those a tow vehicle.

My brother rebuilt the hemi in his megacab. It's now a 393 stroker with cnc ported heads, comp cams cam (it's like a 188/220 I think with 40 degrees of overlap) his tune is crap, but even with all of that my 93 with what's in my sig pulls harder

The 5.4 is a high rpm motor. You don't start feeling it pull until 3000rpms. My work truck does fair pulling 10k if you don't mind winding it to 5000rpms every shift and 4mpg.
