I was going to get some chrome tube steps until I saw the price. Something like $200.

Same with weather tech mats, but that's another story...

I've been trying to find some old school one piece running boards for the crew with no luck.

If you own a 2nd gen and the tranny lines start to leak, sell that POS and go buy something else! Took me about 5-6 hours today to swap all the lines out with new ones. I was going to go buy some 300psi hose and run that, and like an idiot I decided to replace with steel lines. Rock Auto had a nice price, $150 for 3 steels and 2 hoses shipped to my door. The parts were ok, it was just the install, it sucked getting stuff in and lined up. I did have a problem with the hoses in front, 1 wouldn't go on the steel line and tore the keeper out of it. Turns out the steel line was a little swelled where they squeezed it to make the ridge. I put in the plastic lock from the old hose and it was ok.

Jeff, I'm mounting running boards on the FRT, I'm going to mount an angle on the frame and go out from that with an upper and lower brace. The back of my rockers aren't too healthy.

Andy, don't 1 piece ones loosen up and get weird when the truck twists being fastened to the cab and box? I would think a 2 piece one would be better so it can flex in the middle.

They are mounted to the frame under the cab. The back section on the bed floats for the most part.

I was looking at a set of DeeZee tube steps that mount to the frame, but there a universal fit. I've since come into an air over hydraulic mandrel tube/pipe bender as my Xmas gift from myself and my gf, so I'm going to build a set that fits the club cab dually better than the DeeZee's.

I was looking at those universal deezees. I found them cheapish enough. I found some stainless ones for $100 that fit a 94 reg cab but i dont think they mount to the frame, but rather the body mounts. I do not want a grandpa style running board. I wish there was something out there for us yet. This would be alot easier if i could weld.

I done some 3 inch exhaust tubing and tight 90*'s then welded a plate on the ends to bolt to the frame. I then put some straps up to the inside rockers, they were very strong.

I like my hoops....whatever they're called. Made by Carr, they're just steps that mount to the back side of my rockers. They'll hold 212lbs and kill a dog..... true story.
