I ordered a Tradesman 2500, 4WD, RC, with the CTD and G56 (How's that for some alphabet soup?) along with a few options. MSRP about 45K... 34K before tax, title and registration. Color is "Maximum Steel Metallic"

Will look something like this (I didn't get the clearance lights, or the tubular steps though).
I'm probably going to keep my 1st gen around, just in case something falls through and I gotta sell this thing and ditch the payment.

Awesome choice on the standard cab too!

You were smart for getting the diesel...if you have to drop it for whatever reason (hopefully not) there will be tons more lookers at yours! Lots of people don't know how heavily discounted these trucks are new. You may even find someone in a year who would give you $35K for that "$45K" truck you have there!

I always LOL when my buddies buy used diesel trucks and tell me they got 4 year old trucks and "it was $50K when new and I just got it for $35K!!!"

Congrats, Head! We all talk sthi on new trucks, but sometimes it's a choice you gotta make. As long as it isn't a Chevy I don't have anything too bad to say.

Keep the 1stgen and use it to milk that warranty for every single year/mile. 8)

Where do you all find these deals on new trucks? Everyplace around here wants MSRP for whats on the lot. Kind of discouraging seeing plain-jane trucks equipped how I like for $45-50k...even though I can't afford one...

Sadly there still aren't delete capable tuners for these new ones yet. I know some people who are working on it, but nothing so far. I'll keep my eye on it, and let you guys know as soon as it's really happened

That's going to be an awesome truck. I know I like my 4th gen quite a bit, and that's with the lamer interior, and harsher ride

No, no delete tuners..... but I've been told by many in the "know" that there really isn't much of a need to on the new trucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but doing anything aftermarket voids the warranty, correct?

Pretty much. I think filter back exhausts, and cold air intakes are allowed. You might be able to get away with a pressure box, but I'm not sure. There isn't really a need for more power in the new trucks, but more power is always fun

With GM your not allowed to do anything or they void your warrenty so I'm sure Ford and Dodge are similar

Most of it depends on your dealer. Some will work with you while others just refuse.

What I meant by need was most people will manage fine with the stock power (I don't think many of these people are on forums) I'm definitely not one of those people (that's why my 4th gen runs the hottest tunes I can make all the time (I should really get a pyro for that thing))

Yeah I wouldn't mind bumping it up a bit, I know that much. My brother had an '08 Dodge with a manual, and he had whatever H&S was making for them back then on the low setting, and the thing was very fast. fast enough for me anyways.

They derate the manual trucks a lot now. I don't see the G56 being around much longer. It will be sad day when you can't get a pickup with a manual new. :(
