(I wasn't liking that) I'm ready for spring though, with it this cold I get home and don't want to do anything, even inside.

Let me borrow your truck and I'll do the same ;)

The cold don't really bother me......it's mostly the fear of killing my truck or myself on some unkept Roads.
it's all good tho....come hell or high water (or ice) I have to go to work tomorrow. I'm in physical pain from not doing anything today,I did cast some much needed 30Cal and 9mm bullets tho  not much of what I'd call a day

The cold and the bad aren't the things that are going to kill you. It's the numbnuts that are also out on the road that'll do it.

True that.

I was heading home Saturday evening after a decent snow (for here). The wind had blown the snow to where you couldn't tell where the road was. Not a huge deal, just drive the Jeep a little slower and ride what I think is my edge of the road.....until you meet some idiot driving down the middle of the road at best. I actually enjoy driving in the snow as long as I'm not in a hurry and don't run into too many idiots.

that's the key to it, down here nobody (myself included) knows how to drive in this. my company car went into a traction control mode driving over some ice this morning and it about freaked me out. once I got off of it and started slowing down (only going about 35 to begin with) I look in the mirror and here comes another guy sliding sideways with all wheels locked. just not my thing.

there's lots of things we have here (bet I'm the only one on here who's had to protect my dog from an alligator in the back yard) that most don't but I don't want to see this ice storm again anytime soon.

Snow can be fun to drive in, ice is not my idea of a good time at all. :(

Snow is fun but when you have this much, a truck just won't cut it!!

ellis-i should try to get some pics because my driveway and street looks pretty much like that all winter, a little more snow mixed in though. That is why i leave my hubs locked in all winter, never know when i will need 4wd quickly.

What i have learned in the past few years is that the low end torque of the cummins is tricky on icy roads, especially with a standard trans.

Yeah tell me about it,I didn't get over 35 this morning. Mashing the go pedal to hard would find yourself fighting the ass of your truck. The ride was pretty much uneventful tho. I never even met another vehicle.

Probably because you was the only one dum.....brave enough to go out in it....there was a semi that went over the side of an overpass this morning in my town ....the tractor was on its side in the road and the trailer was hanging over the edge on its side.

Oh how I love my D-model! Driving is pretty much a controlled slide from November to March.

What's that shiny thing on the end of your exhaust, Ellis?????????

I had the service truck, 24k lbs of underpowered overtractioned snow cruiser. Everybody was doing 25-30 and I just blew right on by. If I could see them and the posts on the side of the road I went.
I agree though, ice really sucks. You need chains or studs to be really safe.

BILTIT, I see the problem, right on the side of that sled it says P-O-L-A-R-I-S!
