Closing the book

My old 91 was hauled away finally Feb 1. It is now the property of the insurance company who has yet to pay me for it. I bought it back in 98 and was a never ending project. Last August, an inattentive drive on his cell phone pulled out in front of me. Frame bent, front and rear axles bent, front and rear drive shafts bent, transmission and transfer case shattered, engine block cracked, cab crushed, bed twisted. I received a broken rib, he got punched in the face with his air bad. I have been fighting with his insurance company all this time. Didn't get what my truck was worth. So, unless something unexpected comes along I won't be replacing it.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.

Man that sucks, I hope you stick around the forums because you have a wealth of knowledge that can't be replaced! And I hope something unexpected comes along that's better.

That bites ass! I thought you typed that he got punched in the face and thought "all right!", then I reread it. :(
If you don't mind, post out so everybody can see what the insurance thought it was worth, then we all have an idea. If you don't want to, that's fine, we understand.

Very sorry to hear that, Cougar!

As you know I'm more of a 4BT guy and my '90 W-350 is a gasser, so I don't drop by the forum all that often. Gotta say though in my time here I've always been very impressed with your depth of knowledge and really helpful answers to problems. Sure do hope you decide to hang around!

I still have my 92 and the 93 1 ton parts truck. The loss of the 91 slaughtered all my plans to combine the three into a 1 ton, 5 speed, extended cab. But now, I'm debating on weather or not to "1 ton" the 92 or leave it alone and part out the 93. Converting the 92 to a 5 speed will now cost me around 5 grand, about the same as a real good 47RH conversion. Being in Alaska makes things stupidly expensive. Considering they only offered me $3750 for my truck, I don't have Bo Didly to work with. The buy back was ridiculous, so I stripped a few of my engine parts off before they hauled it away. The other stuff I wanted/needed was damaged.

PS: I don't think my PM is working right. I can receive, but not send.
