Whats it worth?

91.5, getrag, 254000, texas truck, never seen salt, all stock. Claims you can drive it anywhere, it has been taken care of"like a truck should", needs no repair.

He is asking $4800. What you guys think?

I'm not real crazy about another red truck, and I really want a dually (take that, woman!!) but I would consider this for the right price.

If you want a dually....hold out for a dually. Ideally I wanted a 4wd club cab stick. I bought a 2wd auto single cab. Now 2k later its a manual and Im about to spend $$$more to make it intercooled. If its what you want--its worth it. If its not, pass on it. Just my opinion, but its not like its dirt cheap. It would be your truck though, so if you think its worth it...

Sounds a little high to me, $3500 would be more in range in my opinion. then another 750 to make it a dually and... ;)

I gave $3700 for my early 91 3 years ago, but it had 169k on it. If this is truly rust free, I might give $4k tops. Maybe a little less since its like 5 hours away. Tim, I can tell you from experience it takes a little more than $750 to convert it to DRW when you buy a whole running driving truck for parts....

On a related matter, he said he'd take a partial trade for a firearm
(Its not that I have anything against guns, but I have no interest in them. Not wanting to start a war here)

Sometime when I get more time and feel like getting all worked up about it, I'll tell you guys about the truck I bought (or so i thought) on ebay.....

You also might want to ask if it has ever been in flood water......I used to be from there, and floods happen ALL the time. Just my .02. Take care!

If it was an extended cab I could see it. See if he'll take $3800.

OOOOOHHHH! You bought a POS on e-bay too? We gotta swap stories sometime!

I was gonna say the price is a little high. 2wd, reg cab, high miles. I paid $1500 for mine, w/ 189k, in '03. It was starting to rust just a little then. ;)

Thats a lot of miles for a stock getrag, has it been rebuilt? Looks like a grandpa truck. Those are the best ones! :D

P.S. I bought my truck on ebay (not all stories are bad ;) ), although I'm sure you guys would say I payed too much for it. I spent 7 months searching for the exact truck I wanted, when I found it I couldn't complain about spending a few hundred dollars more than it was probably worth!

If advertised right, that guy shouldn't have any trouble getting that, but I don't thing its a good enough price to buy it instead of what you really want.

I bought my 92 off ebay...drove 14.5 hours to Michigan to get it, and 14.5 back. It wasn't that it was a really great deal,($9400) but it was the one I wanted. A month later, I sold my 93 on ebay to a guy half way to were I drove. I've got a dually club cab that I'm gonna put up for sale as soon as I switch the airbags over to my 92. Its 4wd though.

I might consider a 4wd for the right price as long as the front axle is in good working order (my last one needed kingpins sumthin awful, I think that is my main thing against getting another 4wd) but an auto is a deal breaker. I gotta row my own, just my personal preference.

I think $4000-4500. At least if it's as clean as the picture shows, and runs and drives well, and needs nothing but fuel.

The Getrag will last, esp if taken care of. I know a guy in Poplar Bluff who put 600K on his Getrag before rebuilding it. Changed the oil every 20K, put in 15w40. He uses it to deliver rebuilt diesel engines.

Will he take a trade? If that one gets 24-26mpg like my last 92.5, I migh tbe interested. Though I have gotten REAL fond of the extended cab and bucket seats. Hmmmmm......
