Where do people buy whole 4BT bread trucks?

Postby Diesel » Tue Aug 12, 2014 2:29 pm

I'm building a truck and literally have everything I need to install a 4BT except the 4BT. The prices online are silly sometimes. So I am thinking these guys are buying the whole trucks somewhere at auction? Like UTZ, Frito Lays, FedEx...where do they get the whole trucks?

I've seen a few trucks for sale around the 5k range. I'm sure you can find them cheaper though

Dovebid used to be the hot ticket website to get a Fritos or whatever step van. I haven't been on in a long time so I don't know if they have any or not.

Dovebid is the biggest POS site for filling your email up with 30+ crap messages a day.. Don't join. I'd recommend going into your local bread, chip truck company or the like and ask them if they have any for sale or can put you in contact with the person who sells their company trucks.

Saw an ad on CL here a few nights back for a 4 BT and turbo 400 trans, they were asking IIRC $2200 for the set up .

we sell all of our trucks on dovebid. ive never used it to buy anything, but i was trying to help scheid get one of my 4bt trucks that i had, and they could not bid on it. they tried different accounts and several attempts, and it would reject their bid. the truck sold for 1400 for a running, driving, p pumped 4bt truck. i think someone at dovebid wanted that truck, and rigged the bid so they can get it for dirt cheap. that being said, some mechanics here will list the trucks with bad or no motors, that way they can buy them for scrap prices for a good running truck.

Unfortunately, I sold my last 4bt truck a while ago. We are working on getting rid of all the 4bt trucks company wide, so look for a bunch on dove bid. We don't have any at all in our region. I can't wait till we start getting rid of the common rail 3.9 isb's. I'm definitely gonna get one of them.

I ended up buying a P-Pump 4BT. Kinda glad I don't have a whole truck sitting here now.
