Pete the learning curve takes a while. If the wheels are rough start with coarser paper. I wouldn't mess around cleaning. Just throw sand paper at it after removing dirt.

Yup, that's what I'm going to do next time. Once they're smoothed out, polishing shouldn't take long at all. I found wheel wax a while back from the same company I get my good wax from, but I didn't have the money to buy it at the time. Supposed to have a higher temperature rating, so it lasts longer on wheels.

The scotchbrite pad cleaned them up nice, it was just a quickie polish after that.

I was wondering about waxing them. My buddy said I can't because of the heat, I didn't think they got that hot.

So I think I've figured out part of why my coolant temps don't cooperate on the highway. Popped the rad cap, and all the fins I can see are pretty heavily sulfated. I'm going to try some additive to see if it makes any difference at all, and when I can afford it I'll put in an aluminum rad with a bigger core, and do a pressure controlled bypass. Other than the little issues the truck is running like a champ. Ran it up to almost 5300 feet asl today, and had no trouble at all.

I feel this is my safe haven.

Therefore..... those of you who will not spread rumors, who are the strong hold of my company, and are friends of mine.....

All of you know that I am a born again believer (Christian) and therefore have a traditional view of marriage, relationships, and responsibilities. However, the other half's feelings and beliefs don't always coincide with those beliefs (I didn't ask for it).

Meaning......... I have been going through a divorce over the last few months, that is now finalized.

Now, in the settlement.... she 100% handed over her "share" of the company. Meaning that THD is still fully 100% in my control, including financially.....and nothing will change.

That sucks Eric. Hopefully everything works out for the best. You have children don't you? Hopefully that doesn't become an issue for you.

The 96 is a member of the pull cable club as of yesterday. If there is such a thing with 2nd gens, I haven't heard of it. A coat hanger, cable clamp, ziptie, and a 99 chevy 6.0 throttle cable for parts, removed the solenoid as well. I couldn't bumpstart the truck with the solenoid on it, now I am able to which is a bonus.

No issues there. She lives 5 miles away. I have the kids majority of the time, and see them 7 days a week.

Just make sure you have something set up with the court system. I started out like that and now I only see my daughter on the weekends. Just cover your butt so you don't end up the same way. It's no fun at all to deal with baby momma drama.

Eric, sorry to hear this and glad you have things in order and are making the kids the 1st priority. Many people don't, which is sad.
I am technically divorced, but not legally yet. Just waiting for the judge to sign the papers. She is moving out next week, but is only going to be about a 1/2 mile away so the kids can go back and forth on their own. 8) I bent over backwards trying to make it work, and got tired of trying.
I remember your kind words about your beliefs and prayers for me when I started this process, and would like to offer mine in return.
