Well, I went and done it. I sold my crew cab and my w-250, I got a Cub Cadet volunteer diesel 854 (46g I think is the actual model they go by) and some cash for both and the parts. The Cub needs front cv axles but runs great otherwise. I then turned around and bought an 05 Ford Excursion 6.0 fully loaded. 229k miles on it now. 6.0 has head studs, egr delete, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, turbo and up pipe, programmer, turbo back exhaust, not sure if I'm missing anything else. It has the adjustable pedals, seat position memory, dvd, Heated and power seats in both fronts, leather, tires are like new, it does have some rust starting I need to get stopped or slowed down. I still have one cummins as of now but it might be going away also.

I don't have any other pictures besides the top one this is exactly like it though but the guy before me put 08 mirrors on it.

Had to post the pic with the fuel price didn't you peckerhead! :( It's about 2.65- 2.75 here, and most of Indiana is 2.83 to 2.95. Missouri was way cheap at 2.56 when I fuels up. I wish I had a drum to bring some home, as it was I packed both tanks right to the brim!

Good luck with the 6.0, it may last with the delete and the studs if it isn't turned way up.

How much did you get out of the crew, if you don't mind me asking?

That was 45 minutes north of me. Fuel in my town is 2.75. I'm hoping it will last long enough for me to save up for the kit to swap a cummins in using the 5r110. It's only about 5 grand but I think it will save me a lot of head aches if its a complete kit. I haven't looked that deep into it yet. I sold the crew and the 4x4 and all the other parts I had for the Cub Cadet UTV and 4k.

Oh, so it was, mostly a swap deal. I was just wondering what the crew was worth, since you see them for sale on facehole sometimes. There was a white one I saw on there last week, we talked about it some at SOP. Not like I need another project, I have 2 going I haven't touched in a while already. ;)

Yeah pretty much, It was my 3rd cousin and I have first chance to get it back if he decides to sell it. Otherwise I'd still own it I think. They seem to be all over the board and depends where you're at and who you are I found out.

Looks like my little tdi is getting not quite 40mpg (odometer is reading low with the winter tires, and I don’t remember exactly how much fuel I put in it, so my math wasn’t very exact), but it is still leaps, and bounds better than jaeger,or The Roo Hunter gets on the same route. I should be picking up an egr delete this weekend, then I’ll have to figure out what to do about tuning, and clean out the turbo. Then it should be quite a fun little car.

http://www.trucktrend.com/cool-trucks/0801dp-2002-vw-jetta/ This one is pretty hopped up. A little overkill for a dd though lol. A little tuning, intake, exhaust, and a good clutch, would make it a fun little car. Then injectors and turbo if that's not enough. Even stock the tdi jettas and golfs are pretty fun to drive, although a little underpowered. I test drove a couple back in 2000, the jetta was the tighter feeling of the two (noise, creaks, etc.) The VW dealer had a good laugh when I tried to trade my 96 ram V10 in on one, said there was no way he could sell it. He ended up offering me less than half what I got for it later. He did let me drive the snot out of each car by myself for an hour, in fact he insisted upon it, which I thought was pretty cool. Ended up buying a 2000 CBR 600. How I went from potential jetta to cbr600, I don't know. Young and dumb I guess lol.

I had an 03 TDI 5 spd, I made a do-dad with a 1k potentiometer that I could adjust how much fuel it got, it made a huge gain, called an Evry mod, adds like 15-20hp, I think what it was doing was telling the computer the air temp was colder that it really was, after the 2nd belt failure and replacing the head I got out of the TDI game, the car would get 44 mpg all the time and 49-50 on a trip.

The temps are starting to fall around here and I ended up driving the truck today. It sits most of the time anymore. I bet the new neighbor liked hearing it rumbling at 5 am lol.

Oh man I’m getting bad for replying on here.; Yeah it’s a fun little car to drive around in, but powerwise it’s a lot like the 81 nonturbo golf pickup I used to drive, which sucks when you need to pass people, and I’m thinking is probably why the mileage isn’t as good as it could be.

Took Genny and got her temporarily rust proofed. I don't know what the product name is, but it's similar to oil (not petroleum based however) and has a 450 degree flash point. It is not permanent. It creeps all throughout wherever you spray it, and it's reccomended to have it done once a year or every other year. Anyone know what this stuff is?

Oh and happy thanksgiving y'all!

Probably Fluid Film. My buddy sprays his truck with it every fall to prevent rust.

The one time I got lazy this morning and didn't wipe the snow off the 96 before taking off, just hit the wipers, the snow piled up at the bottom not allowing the wipers to come down all the way, the wipers twitched 5-6 times and died. Factory fuse rating is 20A, the 15A that was in there didn't pop, so I'm guessing fried wiper motor. Dang it. I guess I'll try a 5A fuse on the new one.
