As much of a fan of Deere as I am.. That is one thing they screwed up. Their skid loaders are terrible. Even the big farmers around our area that are die hard Deere, they don't even use them. I think the biggest complaint about them is their hydraulic power.. or lack there of.. they are rated for the same lift capacities as other brands but they just don't have the lift strength. Most people in our area either use Case, Bobcat, or Gehl. We personally have 3 Gehls and love them but that is what we are used to. They have their own set of controls and unless you grew up on them most people are not used to their controls.

I absolutely HATE the foot controls! I can't run them to save my life. :? The nice thing about the new machines is you can change the control pattern by flipping a switch. Go from the old Case H pattern to the Cat drive on 1 handle and loader controls on the other in seconds.
The guy I work with came from a Deere dealer, he said the skid steers are junk too. I thought he meant the newer ones, so I wasn't going to mention it since you are looking for an older one.

I hate those type of controls. Foot controls or hand controls only. I like the Cat two stick hand controls.

Hey BC can you help BigPapa get logged back in? He lost his password and can't get the reset to work.

Anyone have an opinion on NH skid steers? If I recall correctly, Jeremy has one. Seems as though they're priced fair

About the only problems he had was a blown hose every couple of years.

He now has a tracked bobcat. I can't remember the model number.

dad looked at one but wasn't all that impressed by it, I think I was just wore out though. there isn't a lot of them around our area. Mostly Case and Bobcats and Cat.

I guess I'm not particularly brand loyal. I just don't want something where the first breakdown puts me upside down in it. I wish I could justify a 279 cat, but I can't

Hey guys, I wanted to give Eric Gilbert and The Hungry Diesel a shout out since all too often we only talk about bad experiences with companies. On July 17th at about 0800 I ordered a 4" stainless steel Diamond Eye exhaust system. When I came home from my birthday dinner on the 18th, the exhaust was sitting on my doorstep. I don't know what kind of magic that is to have a $300 exhaust system shipped in one day, but that is some damn good service. I plan on purchasing whatever I can from Eric, provided he has it, from now on because I think it is great to support someone who not only supports our old trucks, but someone who has a great business as well.

So Eric, if you're reading this, thanks for the great service good sir, and plan on seeing another order from me for a low pressure piston pump in the coming months. To bad you don't stock turn down tips or I'd order one of those from you too. '

Parker, I agree! I don't buy as much anymore, but Eric is at the top of my list too. I recommend him all the time to 1st genners. ;)
