Picked this up today. 2005 RKI service crane, 3200# capacity, will extend out to 15' and still be able to pick up 700#. Been looking for awhile for something to help around the homestead, as well as my side weld/fab business. Was looking at building a gin pole setup, but ended up finding this on Craigslist.

1992 D250 value?

Postby BigPapa » Sun Mar 12, 2017 11:11 am

Didn't know where to post this question, so here it is.

I have no idea what this trucks worth so I'd like your input. I have a friend with a '03 Jeep Wrangler I'd like to trade for.

1992 D250 Extended Cab LE Auto, @300K miles. Except for the loose steering this truck runs and drives great. I REALLY like the way the tranny pulls and shifts. It has been immaculately maintained. I have all service records. Truck has been in 49 states and Canada.

Here's the good:

  • PDR installed and tuned modded VE and POD injectors
  • Dynoed at 308 HP, 668 Ft/Lb Torque
  • ATS manifold
  • 16cm2 Exhaust Housing
  • BD built A518 and TC.
  • 2nd Gen Flex Plate
  • Dual tranny coolers under the bed
  • 4" exhaust
  • EGR Rear Disc Brakes
  • Captains Chairs
  • Old school solid mount 5th wheel hitch
  • Very good 80% Michelin LTX M/S tires

The bad:

  • Both front roof corners rusted out
  • Speedo doesn't work
  • Steering is loose and needs some work
  • Bed floor rusted around the 5th wheel hitch
  • Door and window seals need replacing
  • Paint is fading

My plans for the truck were to put the engine and drive train in a 1/2 ton RC SB for a fun little DD but I'd really like to have this Jeep.

Around here (WA) that would get you around 4k.

Anyone use a flexplate stiffener with the stock flexplate? My cousin was told by someone at Goerend that it wouldn't work with a 518 trans. I can't think of any reason why not, especially since I've been using one since last summer with no issues. I dont drive it much though.

I bought a "stiffener plate" from Goerend when I built my 47RE in my '98 and had a friend TIG weld it to the stock plate. If I remember correctly, the term for it back then was "laminated flex plate." I have had no issues with it and the 47RE. I was told my '92 D250 A518 has a 2nd Gen flex plate so I don't know why you couldn't run the stiffener as well but who am I to question them.

What are the chances that a 1987-88 Jeep J-10 pickup frame and suspension are the same as a 1987-88 Dodge 1/2 ton?

I pulled my secondary off, and stuck an he351ve turbine wheel in it. Unfornately I damaged the turbine seal, so I can't test it, and considering I haven't renewed my registration on it I wouldn't be able to anyway, but hopefully it reduces my dp spikes.

Do any of the 1stgen veterans get on any more? Like way back in the SOP 8,9,10 era? I wonder how guys like Ike, Jeremy, and Tim Worline are doing. Same with Jon and Andrew. I still talk to Mark, Bill, and Jack Hansen now and again.

Ike still gets on here. Bills to busy doing 4x4 conversions to get on here. Jeremy is doing fine. He lost his password a long time ago. He also changed email addy. So he can't do a password reset. He stopped by the house on Wed of this week.

I haven't spoken to Tim in a long time.
