I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a new ecodiesel. Buddy of mine has one with 115 000 kms on it getting 34 mpg, or 7 litres per 100 kms. Only thing he doesn't really like is he can't haul much weight in it without pointing headlights in the sky. 11 mpg better than my 96 and heated power seats sure sounds economical and comfy lol. Any ecodiesel horror stories? Better off to wait on a Colorado ZR2 with a 2.8 Dmax? I guess a blown ecodiesel could be replaced with a 4bt, or the newer 2.8 cummins 4 cyl common rail getting used in some jeep swaps. I've heard of one ecodiesel turned up to 600 hp, twinned with the stock turbo externally gated, doubled boost with lower drive pressure. So they must be at least moderately durable to not fly apart at that power level. Been looking at used ones, but they all have the 20" dumb dub wheels, no carpet delete, no posi, no 3.92 gears to go with a future lift kit. Brand new is only 20-30 bucks more a month than a low mile poorly optioned one anyway.

One of my uncle's has one. He likes his. I ran into a random guy at a store that liked his. Other than that I have no idea.

My dad has one that he likes except for the mileage. He got flat tires all the time with the stock paper tires so he put some 10 plies on and now he averages 20 mpg driving around all the county roads. Complained to the dealership and they said someone else lost 6-7 mpg when going to the good heavier tires

I wonder if the guys losing mileage also have the 3:21 gears and 4x4 going to LT tires? The majority of used trucks seem to have 3:55, the ads that actually say what gearing is in them. I think the extra load wouldn't affect mileage so much with 3:92's.

Photobucket really irritates me these days. I picked up a 74 Duster I was going to post a picture of. Stupid ass Photobucket won't work though.

Photobucket has been thoroughly pissing me off when I use my laptop. It's like they've overloaded the pages with ads, and it slows it down to uselessness.

Picked a davis 185 3 point adapted backhoe today for under a grand. :D I'd post a picture, but Photobucket hates me as much as I hate it.

It worked like normal for me posting a picture of that tractor. I'm posting from an iPhone, for what it's worth.

I've found it a lot less annoying on my phone as well. I'll go to the full site, but it's still nowhere near as annoying as the full site on my laptop.

After doing some more research on the ecodiesel, it seems they need a lot of bulletproofing to make them reliable. And with people losing that much mileage with just heavier tires, I'd imagine mileage would go right in the crapper with a 6" lift and 35's. Going to look at a few 3rd gens on monday.

I still have that 440 if you want to come out and get it. It needs bored and rebuilt and its not the most desirable 440 but you can have it if you want it for your duster. Its only an 8.5 hour drive out here lol.

I bet I could have 2 440's for ya if you was going to come out. My cousin has one hidden in a shed by my dads I could get, I'm not sure what kind of shape it is in or anything though.
