What happens on ferries when its rough

Postby Richie O » Sat Sep 09, 2017 4:54 pm

This happened here a couple years back. Was very rough and they didn't bother to lash the trucks down.

They are very lucky to be alive. It should have turned over as rough as it was. The driver of the truck thought he was going over the side in the cab. They wanted me to testify in court for them because I am a master captain. I declined.. I guess the boat insurance company was not going to give them the money to replace their truck. The mack cab was crushed on the drivers side and the frame was twisted. I imagine the cement truck was totaled too. Years back I had my trucks on this ferry and the water was pounding over the bow and running right out the back. Looked like a river down the middle of the boat every time a wave came over.

How long are the trips that ferry makes?

Its a private ferry and they go all around the area. I have taken my equipment a few times to an island maybe 2.5 hours out.
