Not fair, you have a big advantage being so far east. It was still 2017 where I am.

You're right Ellis, not much chatting here anymore.

Big advantage? He posted it at 9pm last night! Cheating for sure!
So instead of whining about how nobody chats, stop in and say "Hi", or just say "Hey! Look what I did! I changed my wheels, cleaned my truck", or whatever.
I belonged to a group, the New England Turbo Diesel Power. It was great, guys chatted, asked for help, had classifieds, had get togethers every Friday, and 2 or 3 big meets during the year, guys from all over the northeast came. They got on FB, started a page, the club site went to Shit, and they closed it. They don't have the big meets anymore, I think they still get together Fridays, and the FB site is now more of a classified than a real club thing.

Lets not let that happen here! Just stop in and say hi, or ask how everyone is doing, whatever! I try, but 1 or 2 guys can't keep a site going.

Rant over!
Happy New Year to everyone! (except Richie the cheater)

Maybe this year I'll break down and do some much needed work to my junk.

Lol sure you will.......just like I have lol. Only thing I've done is install a China turbo on the Chevy (still working great) and beat on it. Hell.....I can stop working long enough to do anything to it.....plus I have had my eyes on firearms lately.

Been working the lever on a Henry Big Boy in 45colt since Christmas,me like! Lol

I put about 3400 kms on the 96 over Christmas, it used/leaked/flung about 10 qts of oil, ran like a champ. The external lubrication/preservation system is working superbly. Running 1/2 qt PS gray per tank helps it run smoother and less stinky with a smoother cold idle in the deep freeze we are in right now. ( I think the gouged #6 cylinder appreciates the additive the most) Got a new windshield installed, new alternator works much better than the old one ever did at idle, even tho its the same amp rating. Have a new wiper motor to throw on when it warms up.

Hiiiii Jonnnnnnnn! :?

Spencer, old?............. FB is a time killer. There was a thing on the news a week or so ago about how it's designed to make you want to be on it, to take up your time and keep drawing you back. It was an article about social media and gaming. I made both my kids watch it, the 15 yo lost all electronics on Christmas eve day because he got a grade of 16 in English for the end of a marking period.

Remps, funny how good a new alternator works isn't it? I had to put one on my 97 a month ago. It wouldn't even carry the lights at high idle at a stop light.

I had to install an alternator, tensioner, and belt on the 96 shortly after i bought it 130 000 kms ago, it was always a little weak below 12-1300 rpm, and got even worse the last couple months. The old one would pull down to 12 volts cycling the intake heater after firing up at idle, this one holds about 13.5 at idle with intake heater on.Oh, forgot to mention I checked the oil a couple mornings ago when it was a -50C with the windchill outside, I was able to poke dents in the mostly 15w40 without getting a trace of oil on my finger. Magnet heater wasn't doing much good till I put a cardboard box around the lower oil pan and plugged any airholes with rags. 10 hrs later the oil got way warmer, well cool and messy. That combined with warm batteries I warmed inside had the 96 fire up fairly easy for how cold it was.
