Yeah, that’s a bum deal on that one. I still haven’t had any money to start getting trans parts to put mine together.

I did finally put my Jetta back together after I took it apart to do a projector retrofit. I still need to deal with the glovebox, but it’s back on the road, and I don’t need to run my 4th gen as much.

Too damn cold to be working on my 1st Gen, -5 here this morning! As soon as the weather breaks I'll be changing the shrinking exhaust manifold and a few other parts.

I haven't touched my truck in months. It's being used as a gay she'd for the horses right now. I through a cap on it and filled the bed with hay. I still don't know if I'll rebuild it with the good body I have or what I'll do with it.

I cleared the snow off the hood of mine to be able to pull the s467 off so I can prep my 4th gen to sell.

I’m also thinking of doing what’s needed to put my getrag back together. Either it needs an insert in the front countershaft bearing bore, or if I could get away with it bearing mount might work at least for a bit.

Mine was just a touch loose in the case too. I took a punch and put several dimples in the case, then set up the preload. Then I pulled the races out, Loctited them and assembled it. Been to Iowa and Missouri a bunch of times plus running it around here for several summers and no problems.

Might have brought this up before but I don’t remember. I’d like to get some form of insurance for my truck that would actually give me close to it’s value if it was totaled. Would that be antique insurance? Could I insure it for a stated amount?

How’s everyone doing with corona?

I don't think it's antique insurance, but I could be wrong. You need to talk to your agent, or a different one. If a guy thinks he is going to sell you a policy he might be more forthcoming with the info. ;)

Most of my concern is because my front bearing spun in the case on failure.

Another option is to have the bore machined out and have a bushing pressed in to bring it back to stock size.

I moved about 20 miles last weekend. Drove my first gen from the old place to the new place and man it was fun. I grinned like a child the whole time.

Hi Caleb!

I love driving mine! The 17 I got is ok, it rides nice, but I like stomping on it and having it get up and GO! 8)
