WOOHOO! Hit and Run!!!

Postby RumbleFish » Sat Jan 20, 2007 1:09 pm

So I go to start my truck this morning, and find out that somebody got up close and personal to it last night. Ever since I put the dually bed on, I've been super paranoid about the fenders. So guess what got hit?

Now for the weird part.......

Before I took the photos, there was pieces of taillight lens all over the ground. I looked to see if the got my taillight, but they didn't. I picked them all up, and thats when I noticed it.

It's off a 81-93 ram or 87-96 Dakota!!!!! I checked the part # and its the same as on my truck! WTF!!!???

My best guess is that my uber-tramp neighbor had another guy over last night, and as he backed out, he tagged it. I remember hearing a crunch-like sound about 10 or 11 last night, but didn't think alot of it since traffic over there comes and goes quite often.

I called the police, and it turns out my buddy's father in law was the one dispatched. He made out the report, and told me to keep an eye out. I told him if I find tehm, I'll call for an ambulance first and a cop second. Ya know, if it were me, I wouldn't drive my truck over there for a long itme, but with all the reduced intelligence types seen over there, it shouldn't take long.

You guys might want to say a prayer for the scumbag that did this and hope the cops find him before I do.....

Man my driver side dually fender looks a bit worse than that. But thats a PITA that it was a hit and run. Mine was the unfortunate result of my OWN bad driving :( I wish I had some other truck to drive around rather than this one I have beaten and beaten on. Aw man I need to replace mine. I actually am considering going with a different style fender as a replacement but have not decided yet.

I'm seriously considering putting on the biggest, ugliest flatbed I can find so they get a lil more than they bargained for next time.......

Tell me again why I moved back to town. Ugh

Dude, that's awful. I know those things are like hen's teeth (tooths?) to find. I hope you get the dirtbag. Or, put on a flatbed, and go looking for him! Maybe you can finish his truck for him!

There are no pictures, so I don't know what you guys are talking about.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the truck- that small area in the pics looks nice. Not so much the tramp's visitor- stupid people have it coming for simply reproducing, or attempting to.

IIRC weren't the fenders the best part of the truck? I'll have to go back to the SOP thread and look!

Let me save you some trouble Pete (btw, has your cab rotted off yet??) :P

Yeah, the small part in the pic looks nice, but the new bed I put on right before SOP (thats right, I've only had this really nice bed on for four months) is the nicest part of the body.

I had planned on getting it painted after a woman in a Blazer pulled out in front of me and did a number on my front fender almost a year ago. I kept putting it off and next thing I knew it was winter, so the new plan was to wait until spring to get it painted. Guess its a good thing I was waiting for nice weather, or else I'd be irked even more if this happened to my new paintjob.

Smarta**! It hasn't fallen off yet, I slow down reeeeal slow for corners. I just got some stacks from e-bay, 66", so the cab won't tip backwards on takeoffs! 8) Your truck isn't that bad, no rust anyways. I'd take mismatched colors over rust any day! :)
