Bully Dog Exhaust

Postby peobryant » Mon Sep 01, 2008 7:55 pm

I'm looking for a complete 4 inch exhaust system, and Rip Rook from sourceautomotive.biz said he only has systems for 4X4 trucks. Somebody said they can get me a new 4 inch Bully Dog exhaust shipped to my door for $350.

My question is has anybody ever used these systems, and if so how do they sound? I've heard nothing buy good things about Rip Rooks systems, but never anything about Bully Dogs.

Thanks,
Parker

I'm not for sure about the Bully Dog system, but the "4-inch" exhaust systems for 1st gens typically have 3" downpipes and go to 4" below the cab. Or they don't include the downpipe. Rip has a 4" downpipe and Stan's Headers does a full 4" (turbo to tailpipe) exhaust system as well. Stan's lists their kit as being for 2wd and 4wd. It will fit either regular cab or club cab. I bought their kit for my 4wd and I like the way it fits. I don't know why Rip's kit won't fit a 2wd, it should be easier to fit the 2wd exhaust under the truck because you don't have to clear the transfer case.

Rip Rook is the owner, says his exhausts only fit 4wd trucks.

Those are the ones I was talking about. There is one more option if you're handy with a welder: build your own. You can buy flanges, pre-bent 90's, and some straight 4" pipe and you are set. Then get one of the readily available 4" kits without a downpipe and put it all together. You can get all of that stuff here (among other places): http://store.airflo.com/index.html. They have everything you need to build your own downpipe. I've bought stuff from them before and haven't had any problems.

I've done just that on my last 2 trucks; fixing to do it on the 4x4 as soon as I sell the stacks.
