Looks like a prime candidate for a cummins conversion. ;-)

Rich, who's the fat amish guy driving?

The fat hairy guy is me. I shaved, ONCE, a few years ago. Sorry Philip no smoke. If you listen during the first part of the video you can hear a deisel model R John Deere running in the background.

Rich,

I heard my R run, a few years ago. Before I took it apart to fix the oil leak. Which turned into a complete engine rebuild. and a pony rebuild. and all new bearings in the trans. and a complete body job.

I love those old R's. Its funny seeing people watch one start. They hear the pony start and look at each other and say "is that it " then they turn on the fuel and it starts. They look confused and don't really know what they have just seen. This one ( that you heard in the vid ) pulls in the unlimited. Puts it in first and putts down the track.

We have 1 or 2 that pull at our Expo. 1 weighs close to 20 k with all the weights. It's also heavily modified. ;)

Expo is coming again this year. You oughta try to come down. Lots of nice and rare JD's there.

I don't have the time or money to go to Mcdonalds for a burger. I only went to 2 pulls this year. Went to 8 last year. :( Did win a 1st with the Oliver 60 Row Crop this year. :D I have been working at home in my spare time fixing my 93. It is mostly a labor thing and that doesn't cost a thing to stay home and putter on nights and weekends.

I'm going to have to get a video of my dad's D7 dozer, that is a 1950s model. 2 cylinder pony motor to start a old large bore, long stroke 4 cylinder turbo diesel. It ranks right up there with popping off an old R.
