89 off to bed

Postby Richie O » Sat Nov 08, 2008 4:04 pm

Well I put the 89 to bed for the winter. The next town over had to spot sand the roads due to ice so thats my cue to put her down for the year. Put around 1500 miles on this year. I refuse ( as I always have ) to drive it in the salt roads. I saw a 99 chevy for sale yesterday and the frame was so bad It was uninspectable. Rockers and cab corners also gone. Salt is crap! ( but I plow and sand so I can't say much ).

Your truck probably rusted out from the salt on your own driveway!
I'm still driving mine. They are calling for snow tomorrow, we'll see what happens. Mine might be parked soon too.

I don't even let my truck see my driveway. It goes in the basement where it stays nice and warm. Thats why it is like new underneath. NO PETE, I STILL HAVE NOT PRESSURE WASHED UNDER THERE YET!!!

No kidding? Man, I wish I could put mine in the basement! I could putter around on it all winter! Get my air system, toolbox, and all the other goodies on it. 8)

Boy, my wife would have a hemorrhage!

I can't work on it down there. To many "other projects" that I have no money to work on. Things are pretty tight. I did put my gauges in last spring downstairs. I got 20 pounds of boost on cement. Imagin the smoke. It was bad... The smoke detectors do work.
