Oh boy

Postby Raymo » Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:53 am

So my best friend was plowing around the corner from my house today and calls me up needing to use the bathroom. So he finally makes it over and I think to myself "what the hell, thats not the ford?", I look out the window and toodling down my driveway is the farms 9530 Deere. He parked next to my dually... and needless to say, I feel a little inadaquite now lol. I'll post up the pic as soon as I figure out how...

When you said plowing, I thought you meant snow!
Don't worry about feeling inadequate, he still drives a ford! ;)

Lol naw we only have about three inches total now. its really crappy out right now, I was in 2 wheel drive passing people on the way home. You'd be amazed at the amount of people that have lived thru decades of Michigan winters and still can't drive in the snow!

I know exactly what you mean! We have nasty winters here, and the 1st snow storm, everybody thinks they're in a drag race to the beach. Nobody has ever seen snow before? WTF?

We've had this snow for a week now, and I know two people personally that have totalled thier vehicles already, and we havent even gotten our normal 12" that hits in January  I dont mind it so much tho cause I average a couple hundred a winter pulling random poeple out of the ditch!

I won't pull people out. If you damage their car they will sue you. A woman asked one day if I would pull out her car and I said "do you mind how many pieces it is in?" Needless to say she did not ask for help twice. To many jerks have moved to Maine so now it is just like Mass. Seems like all the new people are liberal lawyers with an axe to grind.

I always just offer to help, and people offer me money for gas. Never heard anyone here getting sued tho, I've never had to jerk on someones stuff in the snow as of yet, so far a light tug always done the trick.

My dad works for the road dept. here and anytime he has to pull sombody out of the ditch, he has the owner of the car hook the chain to their own vehicle. That way he is not liable. :)

When I worked for a public works department we were told by the forman to never pull out a persons car, never let them ride with you and do not turn the truck around on private property. All we were allowed to do was ask them if they wanted us to radio for a tow or police. I of course would and do pull on people I know. My dad pulled me out today. I tried to pull a guy out today ( our schools principal ). He was stuck and when I finished what I could do he was real stuck. The snow was up to his windows and he had to crawl out. As far as I know his truck is still there. I work for my self now so I have no boss to answer to.
