The Test

Postby Farmboy » Mon Dec 22, 2008 6:54 am

I went out to start the little dakota to get to work this morning and no go. :x so in the garage I go to get out the big truck. hate to get her out of the heated garage and make her sit outside even though she sat outside her entire life before I got her 2 weeks ago. It was 1 deg. outside this morning with a wind chill of COLD (at least for around here). It is only supposed to get to 15 or so today. So we will see how she starts after work today.

Don't forget to put anti-gel in the fuel. You can't trust the ulsd not to gel.

I'm pretty much the same way with the CTD during winter. She's still basically rust free and hoping to stay that way. That big Dodge is too light in the rear to be safe on the highway when they get slick and plus you are always at much higher risk for some bonehead to crash into you on slippery roads. I keep it plugged in on the timer on work days so she's ready on standby just in case something happens to the 3rd gen gasser/beater.

I'll take the Cummins if the roads are dry and the weather forecast is good.

you can pic up anti gel at most any parts store. If it usually gets cold in your area then the gas station should have it.
