What happened to Wannadiesel?

Postby peobryant » Wed Dec 31, 2008 7:31 pm

Under the sections where it gives the name of the moderator, "Engine" and "The Good Stuff" used to give Dave as a moderator, and now it doesn't. What happened? Does he just like DTR better, because I notice he posts at least once a day over there.

Also, I remember a while ago when Swank said he was going to update the server to the one DTR runs on. Any proress on that, or are we stuck with this one? I think we would attract a lot more members if we had a nicer looking site, not that I don't love it how it is.

wanna diesels' last post here was nearly a year ago. i hear he is at dtr every day and is their biggest poster.

it is hard for him to mod here if he never shows up so i put him back to regular user status.

i agree on the phpbb. i would like to see v-bulletin here before too long 8)

Yeah, I kinda figured thats what happened. Just curious, what is stopping us from getting VBulliten software? Money I'm guessing?

I kinda like the no ad thing going on here. Sometimes growing can be painfull. The other sites have to many blinking things everywhere.

Nothing is as bad as Cummins Forum as far as ads. In the middle of threads, there will be an ad on how much better a Ford or Chevy truck is than a Dodge. DTR's ads don't bother me as much, because they are on the top of the page. Cummins Forum has them everywhere.

yep. $$$

we'd either have to let folks donate or we'd need to take on sponsers.

cf is bull s h i t. he is too greedy and wants all the dollars he can. ad's everywhere. and his ad's aint cheap either.

check the layout of www.idahoturbodiesels.com it's v-bulletin.
just a couple rotaing banners at the top. and a forum where the vendors can post what they want. that works well.

a lot of advantages to v-bulletin. one is pictures, but of crse photo bucket works good for posting pics.

This place reminds me of a small town. If we go bling bling maybe we will get some deadbeats like forrest nearing on comp d. I can't stand deadbeats that only want the highest post number. Bigger is not always better.

We have Pete don't we... :P

Just kidding. I do like the layout of idahoturbodiesel, the sponsors have their own place, and the members have theirs. We need to find a way to make some money, and upgrade this site. I love it, but it still has quite a few bugs.

You have me, but I don't criticize your truck, do I? :finger: I also try to help whenever I can, as well as being a smartazz.
CF mostly sucks now. It takes so long to load a page that I get frustrated and leave. I was looking at the member numbers, I am #66xx or therea bouts, and now they are up way over 30k. Place was nice a couple years ago when I joined.
Pretty sad, because they are our club sponser, and hardly any of us post over there anymore.

You know it wouldn't be the same without you over here, Pete. I really do appreciate all the information you have shared, it has helped me lears a whole lot more about our trucks.

Suck up!

Muddy, I didn't know that. I knew he owned several forums, CF, a ford one, and 1 or 2 others. I didn't hear he sold it off.
I paid to be a premium member, then a week later, the crap hit the fan and 1/2 the crew left and started Diesel Bombers. I was torqued with the stuff going on, and didn't renew my premium. If I had waited 2 weeks, I wouldn't have spent the money to begin with.

ya gotta watch that sob. when ya sign up for premium member he may automatically bill ya when the year is up. steve paid by pay pal and sure enuff he got billed a year later. steve had to threaten to drive up to north idaho and kick andy's azz before he would reverse the billing. andy has a whole lot of enemies out there now. he better watch his back.

yeah, i think andy started out with a nissan forum. he had no interest in the mighty cummins until dm, whit, and the members built up the site and he was able to charge big bucks to the sponsers. and then they bought the little faggot a nice 2nd gen and fixed it up.

the guy is a real pos and a liar. i've got a lot of his lies saved for s&g's and have seen emails to others where he lies his azz off.. hell,,,,,,,,, he even lists himself as an afro american in his myspace. he cant tell the truth even if it is obvious.

sure a lot of new guys at cf that have no idea what went down when the crap hit the fan.

I just joined up at the CF a couple of months ago, and never really liked it. Now that I know that all that crap happened, it makes me dislike it even more. I had thought about becoming a premium member, and now I'm sure glad I didn't.

Well I want to shout out a thanks to Philip. He is a tech advisor on cf and has helped me a number of times over there. I just want to make sure he is appreciated by all. He is a good egg. ;)
