stupid kids and selling trucks [rant]

Postby RumbleFish » Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:33 pm

when selling a vehicle thru online advertising, make on of you first questions to prospective buyers how old the are. i just had a 17 yr old kid...17..tell me my truck wasnt worth more than 1500 because his dad sold a 1994 extended cab ram 3500 (which they didnt make by the way) for 2200. it was a farm truck with 232K on it, but it was from florida so it was super clean. wtf???? kiss my @ss retard!! i hope you die in a fire.

that is all.

Yes, the vast majority of kids are morons. The "rednecks" at my school try to tell me about my truck. He says he can make it loud for me, by putting a "4 foot straighter on that thang."

He also told me he loves the "Cummings trucks" and wants to buy a '98 Common Rail.

These kids thing "redneck" means wearing camouflage, boots, a Larry The Cable Guy hat, and talking like a complete moron. More than one of these "rednecks" have corn rows under their hats...

The kid was probably doing what any of us would have done when we didn't have any money. Hell I'd still tell someone their truck isn't worth their asking price, leave the money in my wallet. lol
Before you comment on the redneckroot thing, it wasn't started by me. When I was at college the dorm was full of a bunch of guys and girls from the city, I was the only one that they knew that worked on cars. I was caught by the campus security working on cars in the parking lot a few times and everyone started calling me a redneck so thats where that got started. I made a lot of beer money at college working on peoples cars. I made 50 bucks once off a kid who's daddy bought him a new bmw, the car was pulling to the right and he was to scared to call his dad so he came to me. His right front tire was almost flat, I took it to the gas station filled it up, he gave me 50 bucks and I got drunk. lol

Up here a redneck works on cars, and does not put up with any bs. THATS ME!!! We never had corn rows or skate boards. We wore jeans and a jean jacket. It just meant we had a problem with pushy people and didn't get jerked around. A guy in school got pulled over in front of the whole redneck group and the cops asked what was the white showing on his tires? He said " Last time I looked it was canvas". Needless to say the car left on a wrecker and they peeled his inspection sticker off. Now thats a Maine red neck. At least in the 90's.

No.....but it does make you cool. I love farming....I just can't afford to do it full time.

Not many can afford to farm full time- that's why I went into horseshoeing, and that's why KTA does mechanic work (I'd assume).

I had a few people come look at Jeff's pile (I used to own it, so I can call it that), and they thought it was too rough, had too many miles, etc. If the kid's dad sold his 2ndGen for $2200, he was either an idiot, or it was a gasser (which kinda makes him an idiot anyway, right?).

General rule is, the Cummins adds the original premium for that year- in our trucks, it was around $3000-3500; newer ones are cloe to $6k. Ford and Chevy diesels cant follow this rule.

8) :wrench: Hehe.

Tell that kid he's nuts. That second gen at sop4 sold a year and a half ago for $8100. 8) Any truck with a Cummins is worth the asking price. All that matters is whether or not you can afford it.
