Difference between Chrome bumper and black plastic bumper?

I have seen both i/C and Non I/C trucks with the chrome front bumper (like boostedve's truck) and am wondering what trucks those came on. Were they a Non LE package, or what?

Both my 89 LE's had the crome bumper. I believe the 89's and 90's had the crome and the 91-93's had the plastic top.

I though the same thing, but boostedve has a '91 and I believe GO OVRIT had a '93 and they both had the chrome bumpers. Maybe they replaced theirs though...

The one that was on that 93 was from an 89. I think they look better. All the 90 and older trucks I've had had the solid chrome bumper. The 90 I have does have the vertical pieces, but nothing on the top. Personaly I don't think a truck bumper should have any plastic.... Save that for the cars and duramaxes.
