Junkyard kleptomania

Postby Begle1 » Sat Mar 21, 2009 2:21 pm

Is anybody else like me?

In that we go into a junkyard, and can't help ourselves from smuggling out everything we possibly can without paying for it?

I nabbed a duffel bag full of Nissan relay boxes, relay box inserts, and relays, a 95 amp battery isolator, an ABS module, a voltage regulator, and all kinds of little knick knacks.

The only thing I paid was two $2 entry fees, $5 for a HVAC door vacuum actuator and $10 for one of the Nissan relay boxes.

The first junkyard wanted $50 for each of the relay boxes, I nabbed two and a half of them, and didn't pay him a single cent! :D

Why don't I feel guilty? I guess because me and my dad used to steal stuff from junkyards as a father-son bonding experience. He made me shove stuff down my pants.

I usually walk out with dash screws, relays, and light bulbs. Last time I went it was the clips that hold the visor up on the 2nd gen. Good thing I got a couple extras, the wife broke both in the jeep the next week.
I'm not against paying for the big stuff. I feel it's worth it. The small stuff is what will bleed you to death at the parts stores. If you can find it to buy.

Nissan relay boxes, relay box inserts

What do they look like and size and so on???

I have been looking around for a better relay sulation than the aftermarket offers.

These things are freaking awesome. I'll take some pictures after Syracuse finishes raping us in the tournament...

Must be something in the water up here. They did that to the last few teams. Perverts!

I walk out with a lot of things from my local bone yard.... but I always ask him "Hey what do you want for this" He always replies "You look out for me, so I'll look out for you." I give him a lot of junk cars and send buisness his way and he never charges me for the small stuff. He's trying to make a living just like I am.
