looking at a 91 d250. I have questions.

Postby Swaggs » Mon Mar 29, 2010 8:09 pm

hey, this friday, I am looking at a 91 D-250 single cab. I havent seen it yet, so I asked him if it was intercooled and he says, "he thinks so" It does have the overdrive transmission.. (he knows cause sometimes the OD doesnt work).. my questions, is I am not sure when they started doing the OD transmissions.. is it 91.5? so if it is overdrive will it also be I/C'ed?

also, about the overdrive.. does anyone know why overdrive might not work so well when its cold? I was thinking even if the fluid is pretty bad it might hinder shiftage..

thanks..

If it is stock and it has a 4 speed auto then it will be a intercooled rig.

TPS -throttle position sensor could be going bad, i replaced mine with a poteniometer so i can set the rpm it will allow the overdrive to kick in. cost maybe $2 at most. very easy. just look it up on here and if you cant find it we can find it for ya
