Finally... a 93

Postby 2muchtq » Fri Jul 20, 2007 11:59 pm

I have been looking/waiting for a year. I finally found the right truck.

93 SuperLE 4x4 Auto Club Cab

Kelderman @ all four corners. Makes it ride NIIICE. 90gallon Transfer Flow tank/toolbox. Canopy. Runnin boards.

The truck has 170K miles on it. The paint on top of the cab and the top of the hood is oxidized a bit... but not overly so. (it is 14 year old paint after all) The tranny shifts great. One owner who kept EVERY RECIEPT imagineable. From the sales brochure and window sticker to the pamphlets on Kelderman air ride stuff. All service records.... EVERYTHING.

Anyhow... long and short. Its Blue Not the dull one but I'd say comparable to Patriot Blue (dont know if that was the color on first gens)

I gave 7200 for it and am DANG happy with my purchase.

Sounds like you did alright! I was out in Oregon back in '93 was amazed at how rust free the vehicles out there are.

Unk and I had to throw a 4K rev spring in his truck (OMG... what a difference in THAT first gen) So... I HAD to take the 3200 spring off his hands. :right: While we were in there, the bracket that blocks access to the shutoff solenoid was cut off... the wires to the solenoid were changed so I dont have problems down the road. The TIMB idle adjustment was put on. High idle screw is missing... low idle screw is missing.... fuel screw collar is missing.... the fuel pin is adjusted fat side forward... star wheel is cranked down a few turns....

You get the idea.
Now. While we were going about making things disappear.. we decided to make the running boards and stock tires disappear.

Hey, I liked it with the running boards (aka aluminum chip guards) and hubcaps! Maybe I'm just getting old?

Wiseguy! Up here we try to protect the body from salt, which makes rust, stone chips, which give it a place to rust, etc,.... Did you see my cab?

My opinion, for the little it is worth = put back on the running boards.

I like the look; plus, one reason that paint job looks so pristine is the protection that those running-boards have provided.

Many is the loud "KER-THUNK" that I have heard, as some big rock rattled around underneath my running-boards, instead of up the side of my fender.

Either way, that is one SHARP truck; it's just some sharper with the boards.

I love it! Running boards look nice but keep the newer tires. Sweet setup! I bet that thing moves like a beast and rides like a Caddy.
