And 2wd diesels with bald rear tires and looooog wheelbases are a blast in the snow! Until you get stuck...for the third time that day...on the way to school...

You guys must drive just like Jeff. He NEEDS a 4wd for the snow, just like a woman.

My truck doesn't leave the driveway when it snows, or if it is "supposed" to snow. If the news mentions salt, a couple hours later, you'll see 10 salt trucks within a two mile radius of eachother. Makes me sick...

my truck generally doesnt leave the driveway in more than 3-4" of snow, unless i need a truck. last winter i had to haul a car with 6"+ on the ground, and back it into a narrow unplowed driveway. im sure you would have gotten pissed at your girly automatic truck when it got stuck in somebody's yard.

my W100 will cure this of course...after i can get it running reliably that is.

I told him to put some tractor weights in the bed. When we got 4" of ice, I loaded Jeff's bed with firewood for 2 weeks, and did just fine  Of course, the tires werent bald then......

4x4s can get stuck in the mud, too. Had a client who has his barn out in the pasture. Halfway through the second horse, the sky opened up. Pasture was slick as cow crap on concrete. The 4020 almost didnt get me up the hill. I wasnt sinking, it was just SLICK.

the tires arent bald now either. i dont have any firewood, and tractor weights are hard to come by around here. anythough, i do have an idea to build a rack to fit in the gn rails i put it for said tractors weights. i bought a 4wd truck instead, and i don't have much in it. and that way, when the wiring acts up on the green goober, im not out of a truck.

Oh come on.4x4 is where is at.They have so much weight on the front end with the diesel that as long as somewhere down there there is firm ground, you can go. Ive had my W250 in snow up the transfer case.Did just fine, was kinda cool seeing "snow rooster tails" off each tire...

I used to take my old '68 RT out on the back roads of western PA after a good snow just for the fun of it, to practice what they call "drifting" these days. Did wreck it once, tho.

So I guess I learned how good a driver I'm "not."

Oh yeah, nothing like an old B body with a good LS in the snow! That brings back some good memories for sure! Long live L60 15's.

i had a 4 wheel drive that changed into a 2wd when i swapped a 47rh into it. funny how the driveshaft won't clear that fat transmission. tire chains work good in snow but i was a little emberrased that i had to get pushed up a hill by a skid steer when i was hauling a 305 CAT.
