Gatorback belt- nonIC w/AC

Postby dpuckett » Sun Nov 30, 2008 10:20 am

I had forgotten about this til I was cleaning out the basement the other night. I have a SUPER low mile (<20mi) Goodyear Gatorback belt that I had bought for my nonIC 91. I replaced it with a Gates, and the squealing went away. Yes, it squealed like a stuck pig, IIRC. AUto ZOne wouldnt take it back, so I just stashed it away. Has some dust and the like on it.

If you want it, pay shipping and it's yours.

What different? Is it the alternator? I know my 93 has the nippo and my 89 has the chrysler unit.

According to the NAPA website, they are both the same length. Look up the part number for IC'd, non, ac and no ac, you'll find four different part numbers, but same length  .

Bill- I just know we tried it on Mom's truck, and it was a REAL tight fit- tensioner didnt move near as much as with the "right" belt on it.

Richie O- I think it has to do with the fan hub, and lengths and placement. They are a little different. They'll work in a pinch, but they are different.

Speaking of working in a pinch, the belt is now on my pickup, as my NAPA belt lost 2 ribs going down the highway one day.

Nick,

Still have it on the truck, and with the way business isnt going right now, looks to stay on there a while. Still have the bed rail caps, but no pics. I never think of it when I'm home.
