I used an old Cutler Hammer 1,400 Amp switchgear enclosure for the donor sheet metal for floors so they're almost 3/16" thick. There was a flexing problem with stock floors as seats mounted direct. Now seats mount to floors and bolts go through to the steel framework you see in the one pic. No more flexing ha haha!
I ended up installing Cummins 4BT and fabbed my own in-frame box front mounts [1/2" plate] plus Mopar 440 rubber isolators, '97 NV4500, Tom Woods custom driveshaft, Dana 60HD [the ribbed case] 4.1, '70 D-300 front axle, plus steering box rebuilt by Firm Feel, new front springs, front anti-sway bar, front shocks/rear overload shocks, steering damper, fabbed custom crossmember for the 5 speed and used Mopar 360 engine mounts for rear tranny mount, drilled tranny case and mounted a stock '67 Dodge hydro clutch slave with home made pushrod cut down from Grade 8 bolt, stock '67 clutch master, new brakes and brake lines, and a whole world of steel fab rebuilding cab mounts, floor reinforcement, replacing floors, custom built rear bumper Class 5+ for towing.
Swapped in some new doors, rebuilt the whole back end where it got rear-ended TWICE and REALLY HARD both times: left quarter destroyed, floor pan rolled up, Barden bumper destroyed, side of truck sheet metal accordioned, cab doors pinched shut, body welds cracked thru all the way to front fenders, threw front fenders, radiator support and hood out of alignmnet and cracked windshield in 4 places!
Now going to install D-200HD rear springs and either a Panhard rod or rear anti-sway for towing. Just finished complete rewire of entire truck, with serious upgrades for high amperage and ease of troubleshooting: using circuit breaker panels and wiring busses, relays etc. Came out pretty slick on electrical.
So many mods and changes it will take months to fully dial it in. Soon to be the front end of my 'traveling show' as I go full time RV, towing a 26' trailer. Still need DISC BRAKES and EXHAUST BRAKE!!! Soon....?
