New from Washington

Postby tmar253 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 10:39 am

Greetings

This is my first Cummins powered truck, I made the switch from Powerstroke and will never look back.

I had been looking for a 1st Gen Cummins for quite some time and the search is finally over. The truck has everything & more I was looking for except 4x4. The truck is pretty straight considering the age It has two dents on the driver side of the bed and some surface rust on the hood.

Here are a few pics

Shoot thats a clean rig with some nice goodies!!

On the exhaust brake I'd be willing to bet the brake valve is siezed up. The Brake that was on my 93 had the same issue.

Thanks guys for the comments! I will be doing the NV4500 swap in the next few weeks. The wiring for the jake brake comes up to the shifter for the high/low splitter and has an off switch. It looks as if there is some faulty wiring do to the fact the wire is melted, to many amps? Possibly... I'm from Tacoma... Future plans for the truck include P pump & Twins.

Hey there, great looking rig! I have been looking for one of those Mitchell gear splitters. How do you like it? I'm not sure if you float gears but if you do, does it shift well without a clutch? dang hard to find those units in a direct over drive version.
