New From California

Postby 1stgensleeper » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:20 am

Hello Everyone,
I'm from California and am 16 years old. I bought my 1992 dodge d250 in February, just a few weeks after getting my license. So far, I have turned up the injection pump, bumped up the timing, and installed autometer boost and EGT gauges. I also have an airdog 165 that I plan on installing soon. I'm hoping to purchase a fuel pin, governer spring, and air intake soon as well. If you guys have any other suggestions on modifications that won't cost an arm and a leg, I'm happy to hear them. I'll try to get some pictures soon. Thanks.

Welcome fellow young gun! :D The first truck I ever bought was the 1st gen I have now when I was 17.
The beauty of these trucks is they are dirt cheap to turn up. A govenor spring does have to be bought, but you can grind your fuel pin yourself and make a home made intake. I had about $50 in intake boots and a piece of 4" exhaust and I used the stock filter. If you choose to grind your pin, just take a little off at a time and see how you like it.

Thanks guys,
I forgot to mention in my first post that the previous owner installed an aftermarket 4'' exhaust and put a 16cm exhaust housing on the turbo for better spooling. The best part is that i only paid $2300 for the truck and a toolbox in the bed with tools included! I can't figure out how to post pictures. How do you guys do it?
Thanks.
