New guy from Connecticut

Postby 1990 W250 » Sun Jan 20, 2013 8:50 am

Hiya fellas. Found this site surfing for NOS parts for my 90 Power Ram. I'm the original owner and aside from a repaint it's 100% stone stock and still looks like it did 23 years ago.
Hope to make some friends here and learn a thing or two about these old trucks.

Anyway, it's a 1990 W250 4X4, standard cab, Daytona Blue paint with Charcoal interior that I factory ordered. Has a FI 318, granny 4-speed trans, Dana rear with 3.54 gears, auto hubs, power windows, locks, A/C, am/fm cassette, slider, delay wipers, chrome grill/bumpers, LE Decor and has 209,000 trouble free miles on it.

Welcome

1983 Dodge D150 that has been repowered with a 93 Cummins/518 running gear AKA The Ugly Duck! I would much rather build them then buy them.[

Welcome! That truck sounds like a good candidate for a Cummins conversion when that gasser throws in the towel ;)

Ya know, I "almost" got the Cummins engine with the 5 speed trans, but I didn't have an extra $5000 to spend on it. I was a 24 year old kid at the time and barely had enough dough saved for the truck.
The little 318 gets almost 15MPG average if I drive empty so I can't complain too much, and now that I'm 47 I don't think I'd like the noise as much as when I was younger.
I gotta admit though, when a Cummins drives by, they sound GREAT and so much better than the Ford & Chevy diesel engines, especially when equipped with the 5 speed! LOL

Thanks for the welcome!

George
